Yeah, however in real life in most cases those encrypted chats will quickly get compromised, since there is no good way to share the blowkeys between each other, therefore the feds can obtain it if they make some extra efforts. If you get away with something, they probably aren't after you all that much in the first place. 15+ years ago mIRC+FiSH was a pretty default setup for communication in the warez scene, but it was barely more than a placebo really. Busts happened all the time, and the authorities usually had the keys to decrypt chats too.
