There is no reason to use lossy formats nowdays unless you are poor and just can't afford that $200 storage. Or for portable players maybe, but then again SD cards have such good capacity now that this might not be a question too. There are some formats that are really demanding on storage like those quad-dsd, but they are still quite rare and storage progression will solve that too.

I have both luckily. The HD600 is a clearer sounding Game One with better bass response. It's the same signature but improved and more neutral overall. Smaller soundstage though.
