Noctua of Thermalright?

Attached: IMG_20190109_202807.png (2768x1250, 1.5M)

AMD just demonstrated an 8-core Zen2 processor beating a 9900k core-to-core at lower power draw on an engineering sample using only one of two available chiplet slots, then Lisa Su confirmed they'll be using the other slot as well.

If you don't need a new CPU right this instant, HOLD.

>more speculations
>just wait some more
yeah im not falling for your bullshit again, ordered my 9700k just now

MACHO

For what? Yet Another Massive Disappointment?

>ordering a shitty intel cpu when AMD demos a entry level zen 2 cpu BTFOing the 9900k
Intel is a brand exclusively for retards isnt it

When can I preorder the Radeon Vergeltung 2?

Can I buy now ?

wonder if AMD will make a 6 core 6 thread athlon to further BTFO the 8400

Attached: 8400 btfo.png (1275x714, 348K)

Stay mad pookike.

ITS NOT REEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL

Attached: 1547067169619.png (678x2140, 1.19M)

I don't need one, but I want one and I'm tired of pushing it back. I'm just gonna get a 2600 and maybe upgrade later.

>Vergeltung 2
based

"Ironic" intel shills are the worst cancer to ever infect this board.

Hope you've already got a compatible motherboard because LGA1151 is 100% dead

>no hitler on the threadripper reflection
step it up senpai

Reposting from red thread;
For a 1080p60 build, I take it there’s nothing worth waiting for? So I should just get an rx580 now?

yes

Is the stock cooler on the 2700x enough or should I aim for a NH-D15?

>1080p60
rx 580 is fine

more like the clockspeeds being leaked arn't real.

There is no way you'll see 5ghz from a 16c part. Let alone 5.1Ghz that the leak claimed.

>There is no way you'll see 5ghz from a 16c part.
Why not?

Because the math doesn't work out.

Unless that 5Ghz is on a single core, and even then i'd have to doubt it.

The current threadripper 2950x with a MUCH larger surface area for cooling can barely handle 3.6Ghz on all 16 cores.

4.5Ghz+ all core for 16 cores is just not happening, even with 7nm.

>math doesn't work out
>2950X can barely handle 3.6Ghz on all 16 cores
>14nm

Of course the 2950X is going to have lower clocks, its on 14nm vs Zen 2 on 7nm.

With the significant jump from 14nm to 7nm I agree 5Ghz is optimistic for 16 cores but 4.0-4.5 doesn't seem unrealistic.

Attached: 0e8.png (923x713, 16K)

4Ghz sure, even 4.3Ghz maybe. 4.5Ghz+ is getting a bit unrealistic.

Unless we're talking single core turbo.

>when you're on an old as shit CPU and zen 2 is so far away

Attached: iu[1].1&f=1.jpg (474x267, 23K)

its prob what intel does 5ghz on single or dual core and a 4.5-4.8 all core boost with a 4ghz base

>The current threadripper 2950x with a MUCH larger surface area for cooling can barely handle 3.6Ghz on all 16 cores.
on a decent cooler threadripper has very low temps, on a DRP4 should never exceed 70c in something like wPrime

This. I like AMD as a company but that pic that was floating around was obvious bullshit. 5GHz on 16 cores on consumer-grade silicon just isn't going to happen anytime soon, at least not out of the box.

Should I buy this 2080 for $670 or wait for Vega 2?

m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814932066

I guess I have one more year of X58 and Nehalem

>Ryzen 7 non-X will come short of matching a 9900K for $350
>Ryzen 7 X will match the 9900K for $400
>Ryzen 9 will make use of the extra die space but will be a questionable choice as a sole "gaming" chip

Is this pretty much what the tech media is saying?

just dump 100 on a 2200g for now. then sell it used for 50 bucks

Can AMD do 5ghz on an 8 core?

>buy the non-X and overclock
>same power consumption and performance as 9900K but with a $100 discount

not that user but idk sure. lets wait and see.

Are there any becnmarkers that run games at 4k and medium settings? Every benchmark I ever see is always at ultra and only 2080 ti is getting 60 fps, but I'd like to know that card can do that at medium

You mean the 2700X? No, it's 4.5ghz max for an all core oc.

Yeah basically.

The 8 core part will be the way to go for gaming, maybe the 12 core if you can afford good enough cooling to provide a decent OC.

You know it is, just put 2 of them on the same substrate, there is a reason that if AMD makes a 5ghz 16 core its going to cost around $500, thats just how binning and chiplets work

reminder to not build a new pc until ddr5 comes out in 2020 it's going to be at least 50% faster and higher capacity

and even more overpriced

Is next gen ryzen worth waiting for it just get a 2600?

If AMD uses the empty die area and makes a 8+8 core will the shitty Windows process scheduler be able to handle it? If you're a streamer will you be able to keep the encoding processes on a separate die?

>wait until fucking july for amd and their memecores
>intel releases their new chipset 4 months later and BTFOs zen 2, but it costs $699

sound about right, Jow Forums?

Would you get 9700k or 8700k for gaming?

it is worth waiting for

Which case should I get for my gayming pc?

2600. Sandy Bridge still very relevant today.

Unless the 8700k is more than $60 cheaper, get the 9700k.

For gaming, real cores matter far more than hyperthreaded threads.

>You mean the 2700X? No, it's 4.5ghz max for an all core oc.
that is 12nm though, 7 & 5 nm shit is reaching the market this year after phonefags have had it

really I thought he was talking about an atari 2600

The Noctua is slightly better, in some tests the Macho is better by 1c or so. But if you scour other reviews you find the D15 is slightly better. I also much prefer the mounting of the D15, the Macho mounting is a bit odd. Saying that, macho has much better compatibility.

You can't go wrong with either honestly.

>the shitty Windows process scheduler be able to handle it
that is more than 16 cores that windows starts breaking, currently they will fix it in the next version and give that as a "reason" to upgrade

>wanted to get a 1070ti
>waited too long so the prices shot up/supply vanished
>dont want to buy used
so what the fuck do i do now. amd has nothing in that price range on the horizon

>will the shitty Windows process scheduler be able to handle it?
Wendell has a video on this he and some other guy made a program that "resets" the threads that windows gets tangled

bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4

That's a neat solution but also ghetto as fuck. Fucking windows bullshit.

32 fucking threads

I think it's time to let go of your sandy bridge fags

RTX 2060 seems like a good replacement.

Or that, is me, I just got a D15 after a good month researching air and up to 280mm aios. With the big air guys, R1 ultimate/universal included, you can't really lose.

There is like 1-5c difference between them and they are all mostly quiet.

Why does 85hz on an old TN feel smoother than 144hz on a "gaymer" VA?

Attached: 1523608147408.jpg (700x700, 128K)

I will dump Sandy if it offers a significant improvement in games (it won't).

placebo

response rate

Why is it not in the OP?

He's still licking his wounds from getting btfo today.

>Please jew me more nvidia

What RX 580 should a person buy?

Should I sell my 2080 and get a Radeon VII AIB card?

Uneven frame times above 85hz. If you had steady frame times then 144hz would blow it out of the water.

how much money will the new mid range radeon and ryzen costs
and how much better will they be
release dates?

Same "class"

Yes you lose Raytracing and DLSS but gain 1 FPS in some games nobody plays.

The first one is wrong the RTX titan is a 102 and the 480 was a 100
but the second one are both 104 gpus

Don't be retarded

>i lose meme features and get a slight sidegrade

Ok, now with the big CES presentations behind us, can i finally pull the trigger on this build? de.pcpartpicker.com/list/HfQhLJ

Looking to get a 2070 TU106-400A-A1 model, haven't decided which one around 550EUR to get. Targeting bog standard 1080p for now, 1440p in a couple months or after we know more about the whole freesync thingy.

>fake gaytracing
lol

What GPU do I need for higher framerate (100+ fps) gaming at 1440p if I'm ok with OCing and playing on medium-high settings? Would a 1070/TI be enough or would I still need a 1080 ti/2080?

$700 for new radeon. Nvidia pushed prices up so at $700 they are still undercutting the RTX 2080.

That demoed Ryzen is probably a 3700 or 3700X so I'm guessing $350-400. Obviously there will be a 3600(X) and based on the empty die area there will probably be a 3800(X).

It may be a meme feature but at least it's a feature. Why would you pay the same for less features?

I dont understand retards like you.
You only care about irrelevant numbers or arch used like "7nm" or this and not look at the actual performance.

1070 Ti would be good. Or RTX 2060 if you can't find one.

Even if benchmark shows constant 60 fps, you will be lucky to not drop lower than 30 in actual game.

I was sadly afk the last hours.
Is Zen2 really coming in Q2 2019?
Which means april to june.
Not sure If i can wait that long.

Still sitting on a i7-920 from 2008 and a R9 290.
With SSD but everything is still slow and lagging now thanks to Sata 2 too

>undercutting the RTX 2080
What did the drone mean by this?

Attached: IMG_20190110_010024.jpg (1080x968, 117K)

I'm considering it despite knowing nvidia is fisting me on the pricing for a 60 card. My over 6 year old 3570k and gtx 680 build is near death.

ouch. No way I'd get the Radeon over this.

More fake charts from the king of fake charts
