nice try manjaro shill

I don't shill Manjaro, use whatever distribution you want.

in fact I'd appreciate it if people like you—constantly spewing tasteless and unfunny vitriol—stay as far away from the Manjaro community as possible.

>Manjaro
>community
yea bunch of faggots they are.
Would have more respect if you used arch

Arch is too bleeding-edge for me, Manjaro provides the stability I'm looking for and there is no difference between the two once you remove the included settings managers. They are, for all intents and purposes, the same distribution, Manjaro just has X and a WM or DE pre-configured.

I tried but I really don't like unstable distros. At least gentoo stable is, well, stable, so it's better than the couple days of hell I experienced on an emergency ubuntu install. The last time I tried current I had lots of trouble running various build scripts that were meant for 14.2 that normally worked under the stable branch. I'm in quite the pickle because I went through HELL to make 14.2 work with my HD7950, and my hard drives died in an accident and it's all gone, along with my backups of packages. I hate distro hopping and I've used Slackware for so long (about 5-6 years) it's hard to use anything else, but Gentoo is being pretty nice to me right now so I can make it a low priority for about another week. Regardless, thanks for your concerns, fellow Slackware friend.

yes, it's not suitable to my needs
to elaborate: my preferred variety of computer is a high-performance, high-resolution 2-in-1
there aren't many computers like that, there are lots of high-performance computers and lots of high-resolution 2-in-1s but they don't tend to intersect
consequently, most of the computers i ever own have unusual driver requirements
also, they don't tend to have ethernet ports
as such, if i want to install linux on them, i need to install a distro whose installer comes with a wide variety of nonfree wireless drivers
>inb4 put your wireless driver on a disk and manually load it at install time
lol i'm literally too lazy to even bother when the infamous normie trash distro already has the drivers i need

After seeing how simple manual package management can be using Slackware for a while, I have a lot of nitpicky beef with basically all of them. I like rhels system the best, but it still ain't without warts. I do a lot of tinkering/testing with non x86 and pacman's multiarch support blows

No. I am too young and underqualified. Don't really want to have a job tbqh.
>>have you INSTALLED GENTOO GNU/LINUX?
No, but plan to do this in the near future. I am the type of peron that falls for memes (e.g. Haskell)

I try to use free software whenever I can
I use vim (so text editor)
I know C, python, Java, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, Ocaml, and y86 (simplified x86 for learning assembly at uni)
I spend a large section of my day programming
I am currently at uni
Don't have a job yet
I do not have installed the meme distro

why? I mean I could see why RHEL, Debian, CentOS on servers and pentoo/gentoo/fedora for personal use (though I prefer very stable distros on my desktop so if I'm on slow connections I can still upgrade for security). But all of them is weird. Maybe virtual machines for testing?
