Oh it's nothing.

INTEL TO LAUNCH 10NM CPU IN 2015 !

>TDP of 255W
>there is no warranty from Intel

>quarterly auctions
>come join us for the intel hunger games in 2020

>HEDT part
>top-of-the-line branding
>four cores fewer than the actual top-of-the-line part
>255w TDP
>auction only
>the same year AMD will launch a 3800X with more cores and better clocks at half the TDP on the regular desktop platform for less than $500
why are they doing this

>tfw we are living in a timeline where intel TDP is so high on certain SKUs, FX is alright

WHEN DOES THIS NIGHTMARE END?
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SURPASS PRESCOTT, NOT JOIN IT.

Shut up you fucking melon. The TPD is unbelievably high, also could you imagine the thermals of that? Standard cooling methods would be out of the question without down clocking it.

>255W
So what's the actual power consumption like, 2000W?

do they include a water chiller ?

Why? Just Why

This is pure marketing desperation. Just give it up Intel. AMD has beaten you in the short term. You really need to work on foundries and do something more than an highly-evolved Core 2 design.

It is auction only because it is silicon that enterprise market doesn't want because it ate too much power. Intel just factory overclocked in-house and got a little lucky with a few chips.

Nobody wants it not even x86 CPU collectors.

You and me both know that every computer techtuber and mainstream media reviewer will each get a sample so that Intel will stay at the top of the review charts even when AMD launch their Ryzen 3000 series desktop CPUs

Possibly? They would have to get their review samples through the OEMs though most likely.

What? Can I use it as a stovetop to cook spaghetti because I’m too scared that it’ll burn down the fucking house? C’mon, AMD is set to release cpus that meet or surpass this spec in spring while not boiling the water in your loop. Feels like the good old P4 days.

Wrong, the 9990XE are already outclassed by SP 12nm Epycs in multi-threaded loads. Ironically the 9900K slaps that shit out of that "9990XE" at gaming shit because mesh-topology is ill-suited for low-threaded applications.

7nm Epyc/Threadripper refresh are going to be completely embarrass the shit of it while consuming nearly ~1/2-2/3 of the power at maximum load.

>Wrong, the 9990XE are already outclassed by SP 12nm Epycs in multi-threaded loads
Not even that, a 2950X should already be in the same ballpark for MT performance and anything above that would just make it worse while still to my knowledge not getting over the cost or power consumption of that chip.

Colling it would be a struggle even for high end custom coolers.

based intel bringing us one step closer to create a fusion reactor

Bankrupt? Did they install one at the fab plant and watch it burn down? Does the inevitable i-11 9999xxx run on depleted uranium fuel rods?

this is worse than a paper launch
at least with broadwell I could just buy it, even if it was late

I'd buy an i11 just for the lols tb'h.

FTFY

Intel will come back. Just wait. ;)

Will we find shit on the processors soon? It speeds up plants, so why not a CPU?
