hey guys hope you guys all had a good week. Remember to discuss headphones and shill kindness, not brands.
Totally disappointed with the 2060 but still undecided on what i'm going to do moving forward, would like to keep my he500 and at least get the srs3100 but i'm very indecisive.
have any fresh memes come about? I haven't lurked all week.

Will February be AKG month? this senn/beyer/akg musical chairs of disappointment game has been going on for 20 years now.

sapphire in for a brief visit here's my setup for people who like to call other people me

>They sound the same as my $40 JBLs

Just received my headphones.

The right driver is noticably quieter and less bass than the left driver. what can i do?

AKG is so dead they haven't even managed to release the three new headphones they promised that seemed based off the K553 driver : the K175 on ear, K245 open over ear, K275 closed over ear.
I wasn't expecting something extraordinary sound wise, but at their price point they looked like they cool be a decent budget alternative to recommend with a much better build quality than the old plastic AKGs. It has been a year since they were announced.

Everyone told me not to do it but fuck you I got them anyway

Looks overpriced, but hey, probably sounds better than a HD600.

The weeb shit is worse than the actual headphone

The superchinese 668B is a decent choice? I just bought him one week later.

Impressions user?

But why? HD700 hate isnt even an /hpg/ meme, HD700 is almost universally hated.

im sorry i havent taken more pictures for validation from strangers on the internet ill get back to you tonight when im home from uni

Audio communities are not known to be rational. I wouldn't buy something as hated as the HD700 blind, but I'd like to be able to audition them for myself one day and have actual experience and knowledge of what they're like instead of relying on retarded parrots.

i heard that planar drivers die much quicker than dynamic drivers

is this true?

>when im home from uni
So you were still drinking momma's milk when you started spamming this general? Oh god.

Started out with some squarepusher and it's like I had got some 600's and pushed up the treble on the EQ all the way.
Now on some Fishmans and the guitars are lovely but the vocals are slicing through my very soul. Literally talking three songs on these things so far though so not giving any real verdicts. Can say already though the detail is crazy.

Because I'm insane and like intense treble.

Dynamic drivers may blow out because of a fault that was present during their construction and stressed during use, but if you don't stumble upon a lemon, they pretty much live forever, when they're headphone sized. Almost immortal.
Planars are definitely not. Electrostatics might be close to immortal too if you take care of them and don't expose them to high humidity environments (only at headphone scale, electrocstatic speakers will arc and burn holes all the time)

thanks

>audio-chink
user, why
that shit has more noise than my laptop mobo

buy 3100 and new pads

you won't regret it

post them

Is it possible for headphones to sound worse if you drop them?

>Uploaded Feb 23

no i quit school for a while now im back B)

>have any fresh memes come about?
aside from intense beyer shilling, user destroying HD650s and sapphire back, nothing much really
also what the fuck is that cable kek, did you unbraid it yourself or what?

i stopped posting that long ago believe it or not

It was a good night lastnight

What country are you in, staxbro?

Best headphone + audio enhancing equipment (like a DAC or whatever I can get for $1000?

SRS3100

headphone = Stax L300 or L500

USA
Though I dont have a 404 Like it seems I have a Lambda Nova Signature

Attached: 1547598083985.jpg (4032x3024, 3.47M)

You’ll need an energizer and a DAC

Stax don't sell energizers any longer.

it was just ridiculously long, my amp is maybe 2, 3 feet at most from me so I just braided it up to the ideal length. intended to get a nice looking one at some point but never got around to it. looks shit i know

I listened to one of these, it has lots of detail, but the sound signature is all over the place.

ah, understandable then.
but you certainly should do it, I guess the satisfaction from knowing that you made a nice braided cable yourself would be absolutely worth it.

SRS-3100 + L700 pads + a cheap DAC

Will my phone's DAC work?

HD800 + atom. Absolutely do not get Stax, they sound worse than Beats

If it's a fancy one.

Yes, but the main reason I advise a DAC is for extra line voltage. The input impedance of the amp is very high.

>shitposting intensifies
post setup, timestamp

Gotta get him buying lots of dissatisfying dynamic pairs huh.

n-niki?

Have you seen those cable set ups for multiple headphones where you get one end for each headphone that uses its plug and then another for the amp that they can all plug into?
that would be the dream with nice thick woven cables. gotta do that when I get to l300/hd800/he500 fidelity heaven

What does this mean? It's in the manual for the hd6xx

Attached: 6xx.png (395x259, 19K)

Taking out the pads and putting them back in? lol

removing and replacing the pads is done by pulling on the inside

Any advice for dealing with the really long cable on my stax? I have the energizer right next to me so it's not like I need 2.4m of dangle.

I have to applaud your determination/goals/whatever, user.
hope you reach summit-fi one day.

You fucking dense or something? You can't just replace the cables on Stax, let alone for ones for electromagnetic drivers.

Kek I thought you had to squeeze them

Strangle a Sennheiser shill with it and keep their neck as a cable roller

I have $150 and I've never had anything close to good headphones
What should I get for my weeb/video game music? It's usually the completly opposite of bassy music btw

You sound like Idol Trash prime material. Get the HD58X or poney up more money for a HD600.

HD6XX + chinkshit portable amp

coil and ziptie a portion of it

thanks are those comfy to wear?
Also what's an amp

Attached: chrome_2018-11-17_14-21-35.png (740x738, 1.06M)

Do not get amp, it's useless for anything other than electrostats.

>thanks are those comfy to wear?
Any decent open headphone at that price range is comfy.
Ignore the people talking about amps until you actually get the headphones. If your pc can't get your headphones loud enough then get one.

amplifier

sometimes you need more gain and an amp can provide it. depends on how much voltage you're already kicking out though

Anyone know if the DT 1990 is on sale anywhere. During the holidays it was $450 on some sites, but now its 600+ again everywhere.
Looking for New, don't want some used shit.

It's down to 439 euros on european amazons like the amazon.de.

buy stax instead

>anime headphone posters

I think HD 58x might just be the best choice. It does have some bass for enjoyment but it isn't overwhelming. I've heard a lot of people prefer the HD 58x over the HD 600 in terms of enjoyment. Although neither are good for FPS gaming of any sort.

*beyer/akg posters

>hey I have $150
>buy $200 headphones and an amp

>want to spend under 500
>suggests shit that will cost way more considering you have to buy a special amp

Take your stax, and slam them in your anus

Assdrop newfag senshills in a nutshell.

your loss lmao

Cool the 58X are exactly $150 so I'll go for those and yeah I'll consider the amp thing when I save more money
Thanks brothers

You have to bend the metal parts of the frame to make them comfortable.

enjoy lad, you probably won't need an amp tho.

I am in america.

>yeah I'll consider the amp thing when I save more money
Only if you need it! if you get high enough volume out of your computer out there's no need.

New sennheisers do clamp like a mofo until their pads and headband wear in, so be advised. You can bend them out a little but I find that unnecessary

OwO what's this?...

Attached: 20190118_133547.jpg (4032x3024, 2.78M)

Well, amazon.de does international shipping and you can use a somewhat broken english version of it to browse it. I'm not sure how much shipping+customs cost you'd get though as a US citizen.

You'd have to be a moron to take the beyer over stax.

I didn't need an amp for the HD 600. You probably won't need one for the HD 58x unless for some reason you can't get enough volume from your computer.

it's your 10 year old ratty HD600 lmao

thats the thing, it's already $500 once you exchange rate, so additional costs will make the whole thing pointless.

Enjoy the smells, I can already feel it looking at the moldy box

Oh no please tell me not the HD 600

garbage probably

the cope with new headphone buypigs is real lol
