720p is the most based resolution for quality and storage size

PROVE ME WRONG

Attached: comparison-of-4k-resolutions.jpg (595x381, 23K)

I find 480 to be fine for almost all media. Then again, I only have a 37 inch TV

960x540 is the most based resolution - easily double/quadruple to 1080p/2160p with a super-resolution.

It actually is. Of course it's not great, especially if you watch it on a big 1080p (or, even worse, 4K), but it's usually serviceable.

Talking about resolution without the physical size of the screen and the distance it'll be viewed at is largely pointless.
I think a 720p 5" phone is perfectly fine, but on a 27" monitor, it would look like shit.

I only download yify 720p videos for my 50" tv. It just works beautifully.

>implying stretching a 1x1 box to 4x4 is more spacious and quality

But that's wrong? QHD is 2560x1440?

It's 4x (quad) the resolution of HD (720p)

>yify

You can buy me 8x the storage for 4x the quality which is negligibly good unless I view it on 85" screen

Find a flaw.
Huh, didn't think so.

Might as well stream for that quality.

>720p
oh please

>2GB for a 2 hour long 1080p movie is perfectly fine

agree

I do with sequentially downloading the torrent.
It's perfect.

Nice JPEG artifacting on that PNG you've got there.

>it's perfect
for you

Had to resize image, too many pixels for 4shit

i watch most YouTube things at 240p , if there's some detail i really need to be able to see I'll bump up the resolution

>image.png
they're a phoneposter, what do you expect

I'm not a phoneposter but the image was in png, I guess it was saved in jpg and then resaved in png

No.

We are increasing the sizes of our screen as we are increasing resolution. There are now 82" inch TVs you can buy, while a 55" used to be considered a big TV just a few years ago.

Resolutions must be increased as detail is lost very fast as screen size increases. A 24" 1080p screen has roughly the same PPI as a 49" 4K screen.

720p is bad because it will be useless in a decade or so when you will be hard pressed to find any monitor in production under 32".

3840x2160 is UHD, not 4K (4096x[Ratio])
7680x4320 is QUHD, not 8K (8192x[Ratio])
Get your fucking facts straight. TV standards are not real standards, they dumb down the real standards.

>worrying about storage size
what are you, poor?
High Bitrate 1080 is the minimum, ideally 4k at 50+mbps

nigger

720p is a good starting resolution for Youtube and for sharing your clips to friends on say Discord with it's 8 MB file limit for most users.
1080p and higher are for more experienced Youtubers and such.

nigger fuck u dont need 1080 on screens as big as your laptop, 1080 is an upgrade over 720 for desktop monitors and wall tvs

1080 files are so big. How can I replace everything when Comcast caps data at 1TB a month?
