What a fucking stupid stance to take. Batteries are the one thing holding a lot of portable technologies back.

I've heard stuff talking about substituting sodium for lithium actually. This would make the batteries worse. Worse capacity and energy density, worse power-to-weight ratio, I believe worse maximum current capacity. But lithium is a fairly uncommon element and only comes from a few places on earth, while sodium is literally all fucking over the place.

Store any more energy to a tight space and you have a bomb.
