Should I buy and build a PC now, or wait?

Should I buy and build a PC now, or wait?
I'm going for full AMD, will I waste my money if I don't wait for another 5-6 months?

Seconding this.

Just upgrade already. Sure better parts will release inevitably, but the newest stuff is almost always overpriced. Just get some sensible current gen options and you can easily upgrade again in the future because by spending less you'll be able to write off your costs much quicker.

In the same boat, im waiting on zen 2 to see their full line up. Gpu wise not put much thought into it yet could wait to see if anything else comes out by the time zen 2 comes out.

>Gpu wise
That will be end of the year if you meant navi

Yea wasn't too sure when navi is supposed to drop, if it hasn't by the time i've decided on a build i might just keep using the one i have or get something else not overly fussed i just want off the intel ride.

Unless you're this user here , I think you have time to consider.

If you wait for new parts to release, you can either get current ones for less or newer ones at the same cost as what you'd spend now. It's a clear win to wait a few months.

Just wait ... I'm sure zen2 and navi won't be another flop ........

Announcements will probably come at computex, and actual products probably 2H
If you have shit like a 4790k that you can just OC to hell and back or some other 'timeless' CPU, and are not in a rush for higher core counts, waiting would be the more sensible option

Yea i have a 3770k oc'd to 4.6 it's done me well but it's getting old and zen 2 seems like a good choice coming up.

I have 3930k at home and I don't want to overclock my housefire CPU.

Currently waiting for Zen2

The thing is I only have two laptops, one old thinkpad and a cheap Acer. I want to have a good PC for the first time in my life, I never experienced playing current gen games at 60 fps, I never experienced SSD boot speeds, etc, etc. I never had the money, but now I do. I'm impatient.

JUST

WAIT

How about me? Any kind user care to give me advice?

>going for full AMD, will I waste my money if I don't wait for another 5-6 months?
You'll waste your money regardless.

Are you worst than me? >can't even run GTA 5
>dota 2 and csgo in lowest setting or it will lag

Kinda your choice you either wait 4-5-months for zen 2 or get a 2700x build with a rx580, you'd experience all the things you haven't yet and correct me if i'm wrong but i think zen 2 will work on this gens motherboards?

There's certainly going to be a CPU announce. That means sales of the old lineup, so it's worth to wait at least for that. Now, GPU is kind of a dark horse, it exists, but nobody knows when it'll be unveiled.

>but i think zen 2 will work on this gens motherboards
Yes am4

My Acer laptop does have 8 gigs of ram, but it has a very weak integrated graphics chip. I had difficulty playing SWKOTR past the point where you reach that planet with all the vegitation and stuff. Also I had to reduce San Andreas to the lowest settings, including resolution, to finish the flying school missions. Haven't tried GTA V desu, I switched to Linux years ago. I know 0AD runs like dogshit.

Not all motherboards have compatible BIOS chips.

Oh? I got my info from AMD Su during her conference when she said the new CPU is compatible with older mobo.

build now. prices are near optimal and ryzen 2 will be a flop

Depends on your budget.
AMD makes sense if you're not gonna spend 2K on a build.
That's literally all Intel/jewvidia has left.

>I love getting ass raped with no lube by Intel!

>I'm going for full AMD
>will I waste my money
Of course you will. Zen 2 is confirmed for being worse than current Intel' CPUs in gaming and content creation applications.
The only thing we know about Navi is that they delayed it because the performance wasn't there.
It's not looking good for AMD, so I wouldn't waste my money on their products.

They're not making fun of him for ryzen

Zen2 demo already beaten I9

€700 - €1000 excluding monitor, keyboard, mouse

Talking about real world applications, not some synthetic benchmark that heavily favours amd.

>que but but it's a new generation of cpu's vs intels most refined 14++++++

>he forgets when intel does on stage tests using cinebench
back to the oven with you.

I say go ahead. There's nothing wrong with Ryzen 2000. Invest in a mobo with a decent VRM and you will be able to upgrade to 4000 in the future with no problems. RX 580s are good value at the moment, so just go ahead and enjoy a solid PC during the following months. There's always something just around the corner, may as well have a decent PC while you're waiting for it.

Yeah, just put whatever cpu/mb in there and you'll be fine.
See how much you can save on it to get better graphics card.

That decision rests on the mobo manufacturers. Some have hinted that their already existing high end boards will likely support Zen2. We are yet to see if their mid to low end will have that compatibility.

Just wait 2 months and enjoy the AMD heaven!

>release in earliest June
>2 months
What?

I would really wait it out to be honest. Zen was/is amazing but Zen2 will be even more incredible. This release will be the major drop of AMD making it dominating Intel for years.

Most people are waiting for it now, and trust me, alot of people will buy it.

This also means that it is likely that zen2 will be the baseline games/heavy programs will be developed in mind for. First and third party will support Zen2 for a loooong while. (Zen will also probably be supported for a good while too but Zen2 will btfo any and everything)

Just wait .............

Even if this is my current build?

What do you use your pc for?

gay tranny porn

Is it gay though?

>surfing internet
>work
>old games
>dota and csgo at lowest setting
That's it. Also note opening 15 tabs at chrome will lag if I switch to other tabs, that's why I'm dying to upgrade.

Not me please ignore

yes very gay

>windows
>chrome
What are you doing on Jow Forums? You're cancer.

Just buy a cheap first gen ryzen then for 100 bucks. For the things you do, you don't need top of the line hardware.

wait my nibba

>What are you doing on Jow Forums
Looking for advice? I don't even post here.

Alright will take that into consideration.

Do not wait. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMETHING BETTER AND GREATER IN THE HORIZON. That's just technology. I bought a Vega 56 on Black Friday and now the 2060 either matches or is better. Do I care? No, because these past months I have been enjoying a brand new machine instead of just waiting to get The Best Possible Deal. Specially now that Nvidia isn't offering nothing with a good value proposition compared to the last generation. Just buy. Enjoy your PC and stop tuning in news about tech if it bothers so much that you could've had a PC that would perform better if you Just Wait (tm).

Attached: muh pc.jpg (1488x1992, 335K)

b-but the Ryzen 3000 just beat the I9 in a demo, how?

i know i will wait, if i build the pc on ryzen 3000 launch or not, i do not yet know, but i know i will build it

Pro's of waiting
- 3600x/3700x clocks are going to be amazing compared to current and previos gen of ryzen cpus
- you pay same for better if you pay for a cpu now
Con's of waiting:
- its going to be summer and i wont be using the pc as much during this time
- gotta sit on a potato until summer

And in 10 years you may buy for 100$ a CPU that kills all of them. So fucking what? How long are you going to deny yourself the pleasure of running current games? I bought the 2600x as well, do I care that a new CPU will be better and cheaper? No. I have a job if there's a serious case for I'll just buy and gives this PC to my wife's son.

Anyway I'm this user So my choices are either
A) Suffer with a old shitty build for 5 months till the Zen2 is released
B) Get Zen+ now

Also funny you said 10 years when my pc is 10 years old (got that and still using since 2009).

This is always your option. You can, at any point in time:
A) wait for a better product
B) just fucking buy it

And I'll be honest. I'm a full AMD fangay. My system is 2600x + vega 56. My last PC was a i5 3330 OEM that had a 1050 ti (I'm retarded, I'm aware). I fully believe AdoredTV leaks and been following him for a while. It still hasn't stopped me from spending every single dime I had saved (I'm not American, the price I paid was the equivalent of a full year worth of savings).

Your whole hope is expecting AMD will capitalize in the newfound leadership by releasing a killer chip at a killer price. Though I can't recall any point in history that this has ever happened (a competitor releasing a product that blows everything out of the water and causes a paradigm shift) I'm not sure if it will happen. What makes me most nervous is the fact that Lisa could've shown a 12~16 cores CPU absolutely annihilating the core i9 and that would make the whole tech world explode. According to the leaks she could've done it but she choosed not to, to give intel a "fair chance". This makes it seems like AMD is being completely retarded once again and not gaining mindshare. Nobody cares about fairness. We want the killer CPU. It worked in the Epyc 7601 demonstration, because the enterprise client cares about facts, but for your average gamer they just want HIGHER NUMBERS.

But! In the end if you Just Wait (tm) you will get a better product. That's not up for debate. But by waiting your setting yourself up for disappointment in case the product is even remotely below your expectations.

>According to the leaks she could've done it but she choosed not to, to give intel a "fair chance"
Actually, rumor says that the latency with 2 chiplets goes through the roof and it's heavily impacting performance. That's why they only demo'd a 1 chiplet 8 core cpu.

This is so retarded I feel like you made this right now. Ever heard of Epyc? It's the same technology nigger.

This should be pinned in this board

>upgrade to 4000
You sure it will use AM4?

They promised 4 years of support

U cant get decent hardware for pennies on the dollar so we arent waiting for good deals to come out.
Its simply a matter of how much work is enough in order too save money for your budget computer build.
Hypothetically speaking, one could do light work at a decent job once or twice weekly and save enough for a badass system in a years time.
