Through PCIe. It works basically like the Optimus thing found in Nvidia/Intel laptops where the Nvidia GPU renders frames and sends them to the Intel iGPU for display. The same thing was used to get Freesync on Nvidia cards using an AMD APU before Nvidia enabled Freesync in their drivers.
