that's even larger, you've just spread the cables out width wise, it actually takes up MORE space that way, it's just thinner. But in terms of visibility in your case, that's larger surface area.

Nah, those cables are actually way easier to bend, will stick out less and take up less space. Just look at the part that connects to the mobo header. The regular connector has huge piece of plastic that connects the two cables and cannot be bent.
