Encryption noob here, are most file encrypted by using time(null) as seed ? Is it viable to brute force an encryption by checking if time(null) was used every second in a limited time period ?

By time(null), I mean the unix timestamp at the moment the file was encrypted

let's assume there is 100 different possible characters, that the target password is 8characters long.

that's : 10,000,000,000,000,000 different passwords.

for the intel i9 (5GHz, 8cores), it would be roughly 2,500,000s (3 days) to compute all the possible passwords, assuming 1 possible password per core per clock cycle (for an 8 characters password).

If the password is "a", it will take 0.0001 seconds. If it's OpIsAFaggot#537-ayylmao, it will take ages.

are you retarded? it can't possibly try to open a rar file in just a clock cycle. Also, you don't know if it's 8 characters long, so you will have to try 3,4,5...9...15 characters long until the file opens.

That definitely takes years at best. If the password is huge, you will never make it.
