I was literally just looking at this very easlier today. It’s really enticing and way cheaper to take and train for than the SANS crap.

This thread is created by three letters agencies to test if you have something to hide. Those who give false information or refuse to answer will be closely monitored.

>coming to Jow Forums to actually talk about technology
You're not gonna find many professionals here buddy, at best you'll find IT support desk or sys admin types.

Imagine not knowing what a homelab is

IT "Director" - title inflation for sure. IT manager would be more apt

I have one old gaming computer that I host a few vms on. I put vulnhub boxes on there. I also have a machine that I use for RE/binary analysis. I have a little hardware hacking lab and have quite a few SoCs, rpi, ci20 Arduino etc.

None. Going to get my dumbass company to pay for my cissp before I go full security.

The whole homelab thing isn't really that necessary anymore. I used to have a pile of hardware but I've since gotten rid of most of it in exchange for a really beefy laptop I can easily run a few VMs on.

I took OSCP and GPEN from zero knowledge in about 5 months, back in 2012 I believe. Never got a job in the field and gave up on cybersec.

oh, forgot to mention I tried OSCE once and failed the test. it costed like 200$ each retry and I didn't bother trying again

Make me,nigger.

>What's your job?
leetcode author for big companies(128k)
>What's your homelab?
computer
>What certs/education do you have?
Disney DAS pass

Trying to study for sscp

kek

Can you stop calling that cyber security?
Call it information security as that's what it is
noone cares about you securing the internet, people just want their documents to be safe
It just doesnt sound as cool and you're probably a person vapid enough to leave the industry in like 3-4 years because you'll realize it's boring as shit irl

>What's your job?
currently unemployed
>What's your homelab?
a mid-range dell laptop currently running devuan
>What certs/education do you have?
not much in the way of formal education, no degree or certifications
i've worked in the industry for a couple of years though, and have been programming/participating in CTFs/writing exploits on and off for quite a number of years now
