as i understood it, torrents were safer from the law because it transmits fragments of data that in themselves aren't copyrighted, and VPN/seedbox is safer because they hide your local IP from your ISP.
So people who use a seedbox and just FTP data back to their local machines, isn't that sort of defeating the purpose by sending full files? What about something like syncthing, which uses block exchange protocol?
The main advantage of the bittorrent protocol is resilience.
Torrents can not be taken down without removing everyone from the swarm.

There are just a lot more users who upload shit than users who delete their single-seed torrent
Every non shitty torrent should have at least 3-4 seeds in order to reach the bare minimum standard for retention, otherwise sooner or later that torrent is going to be pruned
And we're comparing it to the tracker that lost half of it's torrents due to them being fucking dead.
