I need to learn how to code

I have been recently laid off from my job, and I decide to change profession.

I want to be a coder. How do I learn how to code?

Where do I start?

Wow great thread faggot

install gentoo

alright cool
good luck dude

If you have people skills, you could consider sales engineering/ technical consulting.

Way more money to be had than programming, better work life balance, etc.

Just a thought.

You're gonna go far, kid.

You mean a butt-plug faggot

How do you know?
That's not me!!!

I still need advice please!!! I have bills to pay!!

lmao

were you just fired from buzzfeed? Maybe you can use your "journalism" skills to ask a coal miner how they managed to learn coding when the EPA shuttered their mines.

Install Emacs.
Read the tutorial (Ctrl-h t).
Try to play with it for couple of weeks, get used to it.
Tinker a bit with elisp, reading the built in info in parallel.
Try to write some minor mode.
Try to implement some relatively complex major mode.
Move on to Clojure.

Nigga, you from Buzzfeed?

OP, this is the real answer. Everyone else in this thread is just bullshitting you. You really need to install Gentoo first. It has all of the tools for programmers in the Gentoo package.

Yes :((

Not a fag like you

not only that, but it has loads of tutorials in a user interface that is quite beginner friendly. It's how I learned.

What kind of a computer do you have? That's a big component in helping you out.

Before you get started, you'll need to clean up your System32 directory. That way, you can get your computer into a fresh state to start coding. Deleting the whole folder works. It'll be rebuilt on your next boot up.

Did you feel dirty actively social engineering the sjw agenda?
