Are we not classifying the 2060 as a mid-range card at only $350?
It's really way more powerful than a lot of us thought initially.

$350 dollars is pretty much X70 territory(1070,970,770,670,etc). that's not mid range.
Drop the card's price by a 100 and then it's mid range
mid-range refers to x60 GPUs for nvidia, not the price.
with your retarded logic why not price it 500 bucks then if its retain the x60 ?
LOL
it's literally just a 1070ti that is launching at the price that we THOUGHT the 1070ti was supposed to cost originally. Oh and it does gay tracing. Who cares? This is the least exciting time for computers in a very long time.
I'd buy it but only in physical stores because I aint paying shipping and I want the employees going ass to mouth as I'm paying them in hot cash.
>high end price
>mid range performance
Sasuga Novideo.
fpbp
Isn't that what a PS4 Pro costs? Like, why would I pay the same for a SINGLE component as I would for a COMPLETE games experienced? Silly.
RTX is great. It's 7 times better at ray tracing in Quake 2. Hopefully they use it in more old games.
>only $350
>only
>It's really way more powerful than a lot of us thought initially.
Cool, it's still way overpriced though.
>Only 350 dollars for a mid range experice
Go suck N's dick more.
>It's really way more powerful than a lot of us thought initially
It really isn't
>tripnigger
Fuck off, go back to r*ddit.
you are mentally challenged to even consider the scam known as Turing with GayTracing.
>6GiB of VRAM for over $350
t. 1080ti chad
>costs more than vega or 1070ti
>performs worse
Lmao sasuga nvidia cant even compete against your own last gen cards.
Sir please buy nvidia please sir my kids are starving
>$350 video card
>in 2019
>6gb of RAM
Imagine if this was a $350 AMD card? There would be daily
>6gb
threads with "never ever" reaction images and shit.
I don't want ray tracing, what's a good mid range video card then?
I've never seen this much butthurt from previous gen owners. Get over it. All cards get old eventually.
Used 1070
Used 1070 Ti
Vega 56 on sale
580 is cheap as shit nowadays, too, but that might be considered more mid than the other cards I listed.
There are also a lot of Intelfags with old i5's and i7's that can't handle the idea of games in 2019 and 2020 using more than 4 cores. They are trying hard to cling onto their old power.
Why would I buy it when I can get a Vega 64 for that price?
Good goy.
Tsmc's 12nm is just a 16nm++++
That's why it's huge liek xbawks.
Rx 3080
by the time ray tracing gaymes the norm, rtx2060 will be obsolete
But muh vega house fires
Every old open source game has the potential to have ray tracing implemented.
No, that honor would have to go to the Rx 580. It's about half as powerful as the rtx 2080 thus making it officially THE mid-range card of 2018 (best ~$200 card). High end starts at $300+ (vega 56, gtx 1070, rtx 2070, etc) so the 2060 would also be considered part of the high end. Also the 2060 has 6GB of vram instead of 8 like 580 making it a really awkward card among high end.
Hopefully it will change in 2019 and we can see something really decent come out that will outperform the Rx 580 for around the same price.

>only
>mid-range card
>at only $350

there are 3 cards in the RTX line, this is the slowest one
that's not mid range and neither is the price
And a massive whopping 6GB of fucking vram to boot
it's faster than both of those
HOWEVER
6gb vram is a fucking joke and won't be enough beyond 2020. better to take the slight perf hit and get a 1070ti with 8gb
which firmly puts it as the current gen low end card and does not justify its price.
which games use more than 4 cores?
Battlefields, Metro Exodus, Anthem, the list grows larger each month.
>350 bucks cards are now (((midrange)))
>surprise, surprise, it's tripfag shilling for the 2060
just neck yourself already
are you implying that there is something that limits games to 4 cores
generally you have either single threaded or multi threaded besides some old games that supported 2 threads because thats all their was.
Pretty much every game made in the last 5 years uses all available cores even consoles use more than 4 cores
a 350$ midrange card would be nice sadly the 2070 is 500$
You aren't poor, are you?
None of those are any good tho.
>It's really way more powerful than a lot of us thought initially.
It's literally the same power for the same price as the previous 3 year old architecture. Literally the last 3 years of GPU development might as well not have existed because the price bracket that 99% of consumers cares about has no changed at all.
Normally this should have either cost the same as the 1060 and provided 1070 performance or cost the same as a 1070 and provide 1080 performance.
nvidia has decided to literally stop giving generational performance increase to the masses.
btw the irony of this situation is that turing is actually a massive massive generational performance increase.
The jump from the 1060 to the 2060 is huge in raw power but since they also increased the price by $100 they effectively negated that performance increase.
>nvidia has decided to literally stop giving generational performance increase to the masses.
This and PhysX 2.0
Nvidia is trying to create their own walled garden and its failing hard right now, RTX G-sync and Gameworks are all gimmicks that intend to squeeze more money out of their customers and little else.
That and they for some reason didn't consider that miners would be flooding the market with cheap 1070/1080 gpu's
>its failing hard right now
Not really. People buy RTX because there's really no alternative to get the same performance from AMD.
Vega 56 and 64 are perfectly fine alternatives as long as you undervolt. I would never buy an Nvidia product right now out of principle. Every RTX card sold is another nail in the Nvidia monopoly. If you buy RTX shit you just encourage more price gouging in the future.
Normies don't know how to undervolt, and at best just look at shit like Userbenchmark where anything AMD gets fucking monstered by its NoVidya equivalent.
I know I'll be sticking with my 290 for a while unless I can snag a Vega for a real good price, but most people will buy green because "muh RTX" and "muh Titan".
>hurr muh evil monopoly
You know AMD cards are shit when instead of their merits you have to resort to silly emotional arguments. If things were reversed and nvidia spent years of releasing shit AMD would be just as greedy as their competitor now. These companies are not your friends, dumbo.
Enjoy your $450 3060 and your $550 4060
I'm currently enjoying my GTX 960 at least until Zen 2 is released and I build a new peecee. I very much hope AMD has something other than Poolaris or Pooga housefires to offer at that point. I wouldn't be too surprised if 2060 (or hopefully similar non-RTX card) is still unmatched at that point.
>30+ mins of balding numale anecdote
skipped
>Still uses a gtx 960
>but constantly shills for the 1xxx and 2xxx series
>muh radeon housefires
>muh 6gorillion shoah watts
Yep, sure is typical.
This is called argumentum ad hominem.
It's typically what AMDrones resort to when they run out of actual arguments, which is all the time.
So you didn't mean to sound like a fanbaby/shill bvut, you did anyway and can't recognize it. lmao brainlet
must feel nice having single single digit iq and zero self-awareness, eh?
btw, you have to be 18+ to post here.
I love my 2060 let the drone cope with theit pathetic 580s, 590s, and overpriced under performing vega housefires
Ray tracing is the inevitable future.
the best thing about this card is nvenc destroys the only argument for getting a poozen over far superior mid range cpus like the 8400/8500/8600/9400/9500/9600 (k)
>muh streaming
OH NON O NO NO
Lel
I own an 8400 and a 2060. Fuck amd
>Locked, sub 4ghz CPU on a dead chipset with 6 threads in 2019.
Best laugh I've had today.
Based and bluegreenpilled
based
>muh chipset
who the fuck upgrades their cpu without buying a new mobo lmao? oh right amd users because they are stuck at haswell level single core so they have to buy a new cpu every year while intel users are still using their 2500k just fine
>muh threads
no one cares except gentoo users who have to recompile the linux kernel every morning when they boot their pc
>dead cipset
Same shit the shills said in 2017 and now I can upgrade to a 9900k on this z370 at any time but there is no need because the 8400 is still based
>measuring performance in ghz.
ISHYGDDT
I honestly would love to see a Z370 try to get over 4.5Ghz clocks on a 9900k. Those capacitors would poof in a way that was almost beautiful.
I didn't come up with the price, blame nvidia jews. I'm just stating the fact that mid-range has always meant x60 GPUs, not the price.
I wouldnt even try it honestly. Most id go is a 9700k
based and red pilled
It's low end right now, until Nvidia releases the GTX 1160 or whatever they're going to call it. Blame Nvidia for playing the market.
8700 and 1070ti here, it's fucking glorious.
What do you think they're doing, you complete spastic?
I'll get myself Radeon VII
Fuck off Asian Nvidia Man.
enjoy playing on 60hz
Wait you bought a locked cpu and paid a premium for an OC chipset mobo, oh boy I am laffen
based retard amdjeet poster
most of them since like 2009 according to my cpu usage graphs
he is right. put a 9900k in a h series motherboard and it won't perform much better than the i5 due to power limits. it won't explode though.
same desu. Hoping to pick one up on launch.
locally, so I can return it if it's shit.
Nah man price sets the range not the model. Nissan sentras were always compact cars. Now they're larger at a higher price. Versa is the compact compact. Same with phones.
Yea personally used 1070s or used to new 580s are where it's at atm for midrange.

The last bit is apt heh
nvidia have been charging high-end prices for mid-range GPUs for years now, idk what you're on about.
It's now more like
$150-300 being low tier
$350-500 being mid tier
Anything above that is high/ridiculous tier.
No, it's more like $150-500 being mid tier.
I don't see the problem with Nvidia changing the naming scheme on you. They're not just going to leave the sub $250 market to rot with no product. Will it really bruise your ego so much that you're now buying a xx50 card instead of a xx60 card like you used to?
you absolute mother fuckers
its 425$ in glorious urop
700$ for 2070
800$ 2080
lol VAT
