>unmatched native video pop-out feature >converts timezones to your local zone when you highlight >converts currencies to your local currency when you highlight >search/copy menu pops out automatically when you highlight regular text >no gay ass download bar taking up screen space like in chromium >chrome addon support in case you can't find an extension you need and most importantly >your data is sent to based chinks and not some w*Stern CIA niggers
Because botnet is botnet. My data being leaked to the chinks is better than it being leaked to amerimutts, but that mean it's good. I used it as my main browser from 2014 to 2016 when I was still a winbaby who thought le features are what make software good. >>unmatched native video pop-out feature Unmatched is a lie, it's beaten painfully by youtube-dl + MPV Though, the rest of the features you listed are pretty nice, I'll admit I miss them.
Mason Rivera
I kinda wish I could get rid of the top left menu button and set any color I like, but it's not that important to me. The quality of life features make up for it imo.
Gavin Young
>Unmatched is a lie, it's beaten painfully by youtube-dl + MPV But if you're a Youtube addict like me then you don't wanna miss out on the end screen.
Holy shit, you weren't lying hah. This potentially changes everything, I might not have to reluctantly shill Opera any more. Apparently it's a native Chromium feature now??? Cool.
Colton Anderson
Fair. Good channel taste desu. Being as specific as I should have been, I meant by features things like what OP was saying: auto-translators, video pop-outs, fancy browser home screens, etc. I meant that software is good also with the "non-tool" things like stability, lack of telemetry, performance, etc. I can see how the latter stuffs could be considered features, though. Sorry for being ambiguous. I use Ungoogled Chromium because browsers lacking a Chromium base always have noticeable input lag with my DE, KDE. I'm actually going to bust out my camera and record the difference between scrolling through Icecat and Ungoogled Chromium to prove it at some point. Ungoogled Chromium and GNU Icecat rank even for me, the only differences between them that matter to me are that extensions are much easier to install on Icecat, where as Ungulaged Chromium performs better. Jow Forums tends to hate this website for reasons I'm never sure of, but it might help: spyware.neocities.org/articles/opera.html
>botnet!!!111 I love Opera. I don't care that much about privacy when it comes to me browsing Mongolian basket weaving family forum. Even if they fingerprint me it doesn't matter I have no e-identity or social shit from IRL. If I want to go full HaXoRMaN or get some sweet cheese pizza etc I easily may switch to Linux on another pc/laptop.
What can you actually do with the damn thing anyway?
Josiah Rivera
Email, wikipedia, quick tweet, that kinda thing. I also used to browse and post comments on forums using dumbphones as well.
John Sanders
>converts timezones to your local zone when you highlight >converts currencies to your local currency when you highlight >search/copy menu pops out automatically when you highlight regular text This sounds exhaustingly annoying.
>no gay ass download bar taking up screen space like in chromium Finally. If only it weren't spyware this would be the only usable blink browser.
Blake Price
Based. Dumbphones are the real smartphones. I'm gonna revive mine when this """smart"""phone I currently have dies.
Wrong. It died some months ago, ever since then you cannot download Opera anymore. Instead, you download a 1MB web installer for Opera. Why does that matter? Because before that, you could launch Opera and restrict it from accessing any servers from Opera Inc. itself - i.e. you could circumvent the botnet part of Opera. And when a new version came out, you simply downloaded the new one, replaced the old binary with the new one and proceeded as usual. The local data stayed local. Now, to get the newer versions, you have to enable Opera to communicate back home and that includes all the metadata used for spying on you and becoming botnet. And as you cannot export all preferences from Opera, that isn't a possible solution.
Greedy bastards will be greedy bastards. Especially when it comes to free shit, which Opera is.
I miss old Opera. What precautions would I need to take to make it safe for modern browsing? Are there any security addons being updated?
Connor Parker
Show me your about:opera page.
I don't know if anything's stull updated for it. I used Scriptweeder as a script blocker when I used it. I'd also sandbox the whole browser if I were you.
Jose Williams
Okay, show me the source code so I can compile it.
Jackson Green
Give me somewhere to upload it
Nathaniel Adams
Github.
Levi Wood
>putting leaked source code on Github That didn't play out too well last time.
David Foster
>leaked Why would it have to be leaked? All source code should be freely available.
Charles Peterson
>why would a closed source program's source code have to be leaked
Christopher Rogers
Why would you use a browser that isn't free?
Levi Ortiz
Because I'm not a freetard
Mason Wood
That isn't valid reasoning.
Christopher Fisher
Yes it is. I don't let my ability to view a program's source code prevent me from using it. If it's better than an open sauce program, it's better and I'm going to use it.
So why do you trust them? Just blind faith? *bows* arigato, sensei
Carter Sanders
>So why do you trust them? Just blind faith? I don't trust anyone
Jeremiah Lopez
You clearly do, you trust the developers of your non-free web browser.
Kayden Harris
Using it doesn't mean I trust the devs, it just means I use it.
Jason Davis
No, you are putting faith in them whether you think so or not.
Jaxson Ramirez
What is the absolute worst thing that could happen to me if I use a non-free web browser?
Nicholas Wilson
Whatever you say, freetard.
With how he's acting it must kill your family or something
Isaac Ward
Execution, I imagine.
Dylan Brooks
>Show me your about:opera page. That redirects to about:blank (which I wasn't aware of). User agent string says Presto/2.12.423 Version/12.16
Glad I could help you.
I love that guy.
John Fisher
Where do you download this elusive up-to-date version?
Nathaniel Barnes
I don't want to tell you for some reason.
Cooper Butler

I figured you were lying.
Ryder Lewis
I've got 7108 unique (deduped by hash as well as well with image recognition) variations of pepe and there is no end in sight.
Just because you can't believe something, doesn't mean the messenger is a liar.
Bentley Martinez
If the messenger can't provide a simple link that'd allow me to verify his claims then I have no reason to believe him.
Isaac Nelson
The messenger would help niggers that is talking about and the messenger doesn't want to do that. Either you're in the cool club or you're not. There's no in between, redditor.
Ayden Lee
this is why it will never compete with chrome, the user is overloaded with UI on first launch
Christian Mitchell
All I see is you prancing around admitting you're lying
Ryder Davis
And now what?
See for yourself how far insulting will bring you in life.
Josiah Ward
And now I'll continue using Firefox (like you probably are too) because Opera died long ago.
Ian Wood
Wait what the fuck how'd you put apps on that t. Nokia 105
Dominic Lee
does it have vertical tabs tho?
Lincoln Morales
Yeah there are a couple of extensions that do this
Levi Williams
It has a built-in ad blocker unlike actual Google Chrome which is about to block ad blockers other than being a little bit glitchy with YouTube and not allowing me to use voice recognition it uses less RAM and does everything my Google Chrome browser ever did
>>converts timezones to your local zone when you highlight >>converts currencies to your local currency when you highlight That's really cool actually, I need to find an extension to do this on chrome
Caleb Baker
I installed it least month, shit is good, it's like Vivaldi but actually works.
Zachary Jackson
I have been using Opera almost for 3 years, switched from firefox, never really liked chrome. Loved it since day one. Are the security concerns real?
Matthew Robinson
nice, the shitcent drones made a deal to shill opera now
Brody Evans
>My data being leaked to the chinks is better than it being leaked to amerimutts, but that mean it's good. Yeah and you can choose a browser which does none of that. It's not like only Opera exists.
