THIS KILLS THE MICROSOFT OFFICE

hwo does the functionality of Calc compare to Excel?
Does Calc have all the statistical functions and graph features?

How is the tracked changes functionality in the word processor?

well it says that tracked changes no longer blow up your CPU

does it still use 2GB of JAVA just to stay up?

Open Office is pretty good

>be in uni
>fat SJW tranny sitting next to me doesn't do any of the work
>professor asks xher why xhe hasn't handed in any of the assignments
>"linux has no word processors"

Not even shitposting, sadly.

I doubt your story, user.

This is great and sll, but I still have doubts about it not ruining the formatting of my documents. Also I have noticed that LO is blazing fast compared to MS Office.

>Also I have noticed that LO is blazing fast compared to MS Office.
MS Office and Windows have both gotten slow and bloated ever since Microsoft fell for the SaaS meme. There's a bunch of services and an add-on store in Office 2016 to integrate the applications with the Office 365 cloud service more tightly. Office 2003 and Office 2010 were peak MS Office.

Ideally, you wouldn't have to deal with MS formats at all, but yeah, it is what it is.
It's a wider issue that cannot be fixed with software alone, but requires a better IT culture/education.

Yeah, I noticed that too. LO used to be slower compared to MSO 2010, but now Word (2016) takes longer to open than Writer.
And you can gain another fraction of a second if you disable the LO splash screen.

I used Office 2007 for a long time, switched to Office 2010 two years ago because of the added functionality.
I also used Office 2016 because I get it for free from my uni and installed it on my second laptop.
In terms of functionality it doesnt add anything new, but its super bloated and slow, especially the formula editor is extremely slow and its a widely known issue for a year now but the pajeets and microstreetshitters wont fix it.
I need to use Windows for my niche acoustical engineering programs and I also need to use Excel all the time.
I will try to stay on Win7+Office2010 until the day I die.

i'll give it a shot now

>send libre-made doc to coworker
>they open it in Word and it looks nothing like how I put it together
>reverse the process and same thing happens

why did you tell me to use linux if it's so unbearably shit at doing anything remotely productive

>>they open it in Word
you need to educate your coworkers, user

Finally they copied the last good UI thing from MS Office.
Of course, power queries and other stuff is MS domain, but this may be enough to open and edit docs.

why do linux users hate simplicity?

Wake me up when they implement smooth scrolling.

Because they don't value their time.

use pdfs for read-only documents
use google docs for collaborative work

>google docs
>TOS violation makes all your stuff vanish

How is the word checking on it compared to Microsoft Office? Last time I used it, it was pretty shit

lern to spel yuo nigeria slav

>What is LaTeX

>smooth scrolling.
gay shit

while [[ 1 ]]; do sudo pacman -Syu && sleep 180; done

This doesn't show anything besides the fact that your classmate is retarded.

> Tabbed UI

Into the trash it goes.

I see you like to live dangerously

I am avaliable on the weekend

Just get Antidote

...wat? It doesn't use java. Thinking of open office maybe??

Then why does this happen?
% libreoffice
Warning: failed to launch javaldx - java may not function correctly

Uglier and less functional than Office 2007, still. Maybe next year guys.

Just use office 365. The linux desktop and the power of MS office. Jus werks

Can it be disabled?
Some optional component still wants java

OpenOffice or LibreOffice? There's a difference now.

There's an option in settings to disable Java extensions. It starts up much faster

This.

Why are you guys so delusional all the time?
