Alright Jow Forums so I own an iPhone XS because family bought it for me trying to make me a normie but doing something as simple as putting some videos or ROMs on this shit is hell on earth.
I'm heavily considering trading it in and buying some chinkshit phone and a modded PSVita for games and portable shit but I'm open to other options.
I basically want a decent phone and separate portable entertainment console that isn't locked down, so I can put roms, music, porn etc. on it for times when I can't carry anything bigger and have to go somewhere.
I agree with this sentiment but Do what says except look for a second hand vita and mod it. If you can get enso onto a vita it makes for the best handheld emulation device, even better than a PSP since it has support for every PSP game and homebrew alongside Vita games and emulators.

The PSP I have issues with because the joysticks suck. Is the vita better? I only played one once and I can't remember.
The actual build quality and chips in apple are nice and everything but I'd rather have something that is usable as is without having to jailbreak it and all that shit just to have a usable product.
I'm going to look into xiaomeme but I'm worried they won't last very long or be as good build quality as iPhones. I mean iPhones are shit software wise but at least they're good build quality and everything.

Aside from price, why would you ever get a PSP over a Vita? The latter can do 99% of what you would want to on a PSP.

Xiaomi is a good brand, it's been around for a while. Unlockable bootloaders and a great modding community. I've enjoyed my experience with the redmi note 4, decent specs for the price and a plethora of ROMs.
Most videos won't import presumably because of copyright protection.
I should be able to just drag and drop files and folders like I can do with other devices instead of using some retarded program.

Get the One Plus One phone or Nexus 4/5. With those you can run Lineage OS or Ubuntu Touch. PS Vita is great to hack, but PSP is a lot simpler, but the Vita CAN play PSP and roms (source; my hacked one).
