My screen doesn't flicker at all. The shadows in the image do though. That's the power of .gif

>why does a .gif file move?
americans, everyone

This thread isn't long enough for me to scroll up and down

may it be long enough for you in the near future, friend

>he thinks this gif is animated

Hi guys,

Probably something to do with your fpses, be careful.

Only in the shadows.

On my VA monitor it color shifts to green and red instead of flickering, any idea why?

Flickers for me in the shadow on firefox but not chrome. No idea what the deal is.

you need 120hz testufo.com/

I'm sure someone on /v/ is jacking off to this

Moiré effect
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moiré_pattern
The pattern of dots in the image interferes with the tiny grid formed by the pixels in your monitor.

lmao what game is this? looks like 0AD

u no fuk my pixels

I jacked off to the female villager in AOEII once.

Wololo

its called tearing
because you don't have a freesync, gsnyc, Vsync display

get used to it or buy another monitor

Company of Heroes is the best RTS game ever
I play it daily, I've done so since 2009.

I'm not on my Linux computer, better luck next time.

Can't get it to flicker on my cheapo IPS ultrawide

there's open sauce?

My Dell TN doesn't flicker.

Spirit of the Law here

Is AoE2 available on linux?
I liked this game when I was a kiddo. It came for free on the family computer so it was the only game I had

Runs fine on wine. You could always play the hd remake though.

where can I buy this?

my CRT monitor doesn't have this problem :^)

>My Dell TN doesn't flicker.

My Dell TN 155hz wqhd does flicker

in a monitor you have a thing called scaler and content is adjusted to fit in the pixel, the motion lets some algorythm regulate accurate pixel placement and sharpening, which is being lifted when its moving.

The HD remake is on Steam - which is available on Linux.

because each pixel is in a checkerboard pattern
when you scroll (at 1:1 pixels) it literally does flicker the pixels

won't happen if the image is scaled at all because then the pixel pattern is lost

Lol hive mind i just installed aoe3 from a 2.5gb piratebay torrent yesterday required some winetricks but just werked.. Ready for a lan session today

Its available in steam and also has a discount until feb11 due to the chinese pig year shit atm

You mean the moire pattern on shadows?

damnn 0 A.D. looks like THAT

what is censored about it?
i'mean, wtf this game got to be censored?

What winetricks? Help

it's 144hz MPG27CQ

neat. real 30 yo boomer feels incoming

The steam version is botnet, just pirate it unless you want online multiplayer. There is also OpenAge which when last i looked was coming along nicely.

Your monitor is probably 6 bit color with FRC.
FRC algorithms that emulate 8 bit color fuck up when there is motion.

Set windows xp as version in winecfg and
winetricks corefonts d3dx9 quartz mfc42 l3codecx msxml4 vcrun6 riched20 dsound

Dithering effect?

Fuck you now I need to buy this.

>OpenAge
github.com/SFTtech/openage
openage uses the original game assets (such as sounds and graphics), but (for obvious reasons) doesn't ship them. To play, you require an original AoE II : TC installation or AoE II: HD (installation via Wine or Steam-Linux).

well, might as well use the original

Correctus.

Look up "subpixel precision". That will explain the flickering.

Because uwing LCDs black-to-grey and grey-to-black switching times are a different length.

Reminds me of OpenRA for red alert which unfortunately was written in c#

0AD with delenda est mod. For some reason they removed the bras on the Indian civilization. More historically accurate, maybe.

I dont see anythign

Wut

I don't know how to mess with wine tricks so I just ran
>winetricks corefonts d3dx9 quartz mfc42 l3codecx msxml4 vcrun6 riched20 dsound
but it gave me some 404s
game is pic related, how to I fix it?

idiot

Attached: 1547732196955.png (800x600, 524K)

which one flickers for you?

Attached: inversion-all.png (990x768, 17K)

all of them
I blame
chrome
Usually this, also certain patterns like high contrast checkerboards make the non-instantaneous pixel transitions noticeable when they flip/move

2b but only if I look at it on my peripheral vision.

>2b
What about this pic?

Attached: 1549163440589.jpg (1080x1920, 532K)

Nvm, I tought you meant by looking statically, not by scrolling.
Reading the thread before replying was beneath me

What game is this? Some AoE clone?

So was a dragon dildo you tremendous faggot.

All of them

Krauts don't allow any portrayal of human on human violence

So 99% of German history?

Exactly, they don't want to talk about it
