As someone who started with Java, I don't recommend it as a first language. Start with a language like Python or Ruby. After that, learn C++ or C.

name please? just asking for my penis

Karly Kloss

>learn to le code XD
Don't bother.

Fuck off BuzzFeed.

Not OP but should I seriously be trying to learn python/C first, when I'm trying to get an entry level job in c#/.net?

Jews are really desperate to lower programers wages

Learn C#. It's easier and scales better into more advanced stuff.

Java is just pure trash, horrible syntax, horrible design, piss poor

go to india and join a durgasoft training session. make sure it's with Mr. Nagoor Babu though be he is the only ICON of JAVA

Python is a good starting point if you've never programmed before because of how easy it is to learn due to how simple the syntax is. I recommend learning C before C# because it'll make learning C# much easier, but jumping right into C# after learning Python is fine. I'm also not sure what your programming background is so I wont be able to give great advice, but if you've never programmed before, learning Python first is definitely the way to go. You really only need to stick with it until you understand the basic concepts of programming, then you'll be fine to move onto other languages.

Try to make your own simple game engine, its kinda interesting and you will learn most of the things that any language can offer.

do the needful

>Learn how to code
>Java

pick one

>How to learn the basics of java as fast as possible?

Don't, you'll waste your time.

Use SICP to learn to program period. Then all it takes to learn Java is read the Java docs.

Java

Java is a great starting point to learn programming languages. Just make sure you actually LEARN the programming language, not just how to code. Java has lots of things advanced programmers don't like (f.ex. the garbage collector) but it's actually very good for a beginner.

Zed A. Shaw who is the author of "Learn C the hard way" made books for other programming languages too. His books are some of the best when it comes to learn a programming language.
You can buy the books here learncodethehardway.org/ but I'm sure you can also download them somewhere.

Easiest way to learn is probably taking one of the many free courses to get a gist of the general language and then go from there and make your own small projects.

Learn how to code

I've heard his "learn the hard way" books are shit and produce terrible programmers who had a terrible time learning.

I liked Charles Severances Python for Informatics course.

Learn c++ first

Wait so does she do porn or not? I'm getting a lot of conflicting messages.
