More than anything this shows how unaspirational and stagnant modern Britain is. American companies like Apple and HP are making world-class personal computers, Apple, Google and Asian companies galore are making phones that take up less space than a Raspberry Pi while being better in every way. Meanwhile the best the UK can come up with is some underpowered junk that serves as nothing but a welfare distraction from learning development on a real platform.

To be fair the whole point of the Pi is to be dirt cheap computing. Do Apple, Google and Asian companies sell an equally powerful $35 phone with GPIO pins? No, they don't.

Honestly the only fun thing about a Raspberry Pi is buying a bunch of them just to build a physical cluster and try out distributed computing on the cheap. But why bother when you can do the same with a bunch of VMs or containers on a bigger system anyway.
