IPS, backlight bleed is a meme thats made to look worse by overexposed pictures taken from your phone

backlight bleed is only retards find when looking at 100% black screens, because that's their only way of testing a screen

Looking at that picture, IPS. Never had an issue with IPS

ips except for super ultra high speed gaming. but we finally have 1ms ips so its nearly a moot point

Attached: 15434278571222.jpg (1414x810, 357K)

the issue with these photos are they dont illustrate black levels at all and this one in particular makes ips look the best even though va has better blacks

Sweetie, if you want good colors and good blacks, you go OLED

for a monitor theres barely any. plus burn in on monitors

IPS, obviously. And now that gaymurs get 144hz via monitors like the XB271HU, there is no excuse.

OLED is a meme, half baked technology that will burn in most of the time
mLED is the future.
Blacks are a meme because you're not staring at black stuff most of the time, are you?

Obsessed with blacks, I swear.

>Blacks are a meme because you're not staring at black stuff most of the time
What about porn?

Checkced, but still get IPS because blacks will literally disappear and you won't be able to see them because muh deep blacks.

WHEN THE FUCK ARE WE GOING TO GET MLED
IM FUCKING TIRED OF THESE SHITTY DISPLAYS WITH GIGANTIC RETARDED DOWNSIDES
YOU CAN GET COLORS AND RESPONSE TIME BUT ONLY IF YOU SACRIFICE THE COLOR BLACK
YOU CAN GET LOW DISPLAY LAG BUT ONLY AT THE COST OF EVERYTHING ELSE
YOU CAN GET EVERY COLOR INCLUDING BLACK BUT ONLY IF YOU BABYSIT YOUR DISPLAY TO PREVENT BURN-IN AND THEN REPLACE IT IN 2 YEARS BECAUSE THE ORGANIC MATERIALS IN YOUR DISPLAY DIE AT DIFFERENT RATES
I WANT CRTS BACK

not everything is a meme my man.

for the stuff i do (video editing) it does matter, i hate oled and amoled for this reason actually, having to check my content on them really sucks.

but it is nice i will say, its just fucked to work with

My point exactly you nitwit
OLED is a meme
editing pros always use IPS.

real life

>g-sync
Into the trash

Waste of trips, there are no Radeon cards that can handle 1440p and get high frames. Cope away faggot

TN for budget and competitive gaming.
IPS for overall high budget gaming.
VA for multimedia.

does va have glow like ips? does it have any problems unique to va?

CRT

Glow is a meme

>had a va panel
>buys a new ips
>Why is this monitor look so washout?

>IPS
>deep blacks

Attached: ipshit.jpg (3996x2664, 1.73M)

not it isnt. half the screen looks blue and the other orange.
t. own 2 ips monitors

Out of all three, IPS wins in modern implementation. IPS used to be an issue for top competitor gamers due to hz being limited to ~60. Now they can hit 165 or whatever. IPS now has lower input lag than TN of the same refresh rate, better color, and better viewing angle. Only issue might be the pricing might be bit expensive.

Nice meme image
So you have a bad case of it, a defective panel
regular glow is a meme that's not detectable or a problem in daily usage.

Why, reveals to much?

The poor ones maybe. Sony and a few others make pro OLED monitors for production and medical imaging that are like 10 to 30k

It's not as bad in person but you can still see it especially in the corners.

Also, VA has shit input lag. Slightly better than TN viewing angle(but still trash compared to IPS) and shit color.

TN all the way.

Among just monitors? Probably IPS. The VAs used in monitors are the same type from like 2012, AMVA 5 or some shit.

TVs have much better panels, so if you include TVs, then VA by far. Many of the mid to high end TVs even have 120hz panels so you can force them to run at 120hz on 1080p or 1440p. OLED still looks the best, don't even hit me with that gay burn in meme. Nothing else compares to it visually

How about TN vs VA?

I'm not going to buy a $900 monitor and then still have to justify the purchase for myself, so IPS gaming monitors are out of the question.

Well we're not talking about specialized crap here

So you're poor or stingy and don't want the best thing for yourself? Buy any TNshit, who cares. A louse like you won't be able to appreciate the difference anyway.
It's not a meme.

>It's not a meme.
rtings tested it, literally a meme.

IPS glow is definitely noticeable on a 27 inch screen at working distance. Even the best quality IPS panels, like the Mac 5k or the new 120hz 4k ones, exhibit IPS glow.

It's inherent to the technology. When reviewers say bad viewing angles they mean the gamma shift. Saturation and brightness decreases as you turn away from center on TN and VN. IPS doesn't have that but it still has a subtle hue shift and glow across the surface of the panel. These things are in the end actively managed color filters with lights going all out behind them unless you turn on "dynamic contrast" or whatever bullshit companies try to peddle, naturally the light will leak and disperse across the LCD. Unlike back light bleed, it's not something that can be fixed with tidier assembly. IIRC IPS is more likely to experience clouding too

Enjoy paying a high price just to end up with shit technology in the end anyway,

Rtings confirmed you'll eventually get burn in, LOL

How is the pay at LG these days?

Nice meme
unless your panel is fucked up there's no problem with glow when you're actually using your computer instead of just staring at a black screen to test for BLB
I'm glad you are satisfied with subpar display tech

you're the one with the subpar display technology, you can't view black on your crap glowing box

this

You should be getting OLED or a display with local dimming.

Attached: m-series-uniformity-fald-medium.jpg (790x444, 35K)

show me where i can buy a brand new crt

>local dimming
unless it is per pixel dimming it is rather useless

nice joke

To be fair you can't on va either.
Only if turned off maybe.

eBay, Craigslist, and thrift stores in order of descending likelihood.

How bad are those chink-spec CRTs, and why they're still making them?

Don't know. You have to buy hundreds at a time too.

That's a TV, not a computer monitor. Also "HD" so you can't even use it with old consoles.
They're for commercial use like in stores/hotels/airports because apparently some factory still has CRT production lines.

>Also "HD" so you can't even use it with old consoles.
It is a CRT...

>Min. Order 1 set

>They're for commercial use like in stores/hotels/airports because apparently some factory still has CRT production lines.
But why? TN-LCDs are just as cheap, consume less power and don't have burn it...

modern LCDs have as much burn-in as modern CRTs

Take a look at the website and you'll see they're just breaking down recycled TVs for parts and cobbling together "refurbished" units with what works.

Around 2016 I read somewhere that the last crt factory is shutting down. So no new crt

Yeah by display the same shit literally all day. Most people who can afford OLED TVs aren't NEETs who stay at home all day

TFT TN LCDs don't have any burn in at all, while CRTs do get burn-in.
Interesting... Really?

>TFT TN LCDs don't have any burn in at all, while CRTs do get burn-in.

LCDs don't have burn in at all. It is impossible.
While chinks sell this as NEW CRT

Attached: 3343.jpg (805x595, 45K)

>burned in so hard you can see it even when it's off
He's dead Jim

LCDs can in fact get quasi burn-in, and yeah that thing looks very modern...

Even my cheap LG IPS monitor from 4 years ago, isn't retarded like your picture.
And I bought it because it was THE cheapest IPS by the time.

>quasi burn-in
It's called image retention and it can be fixed by heating the affected areas with a hair dryer on low heat.

>LG

VA

You don't get good chroma subsampling if you do 1440p 120hz though.

I'd say it depends on the individual panel

VA currently has the best ratio for displays. 1440p 10bit colours HDR600 and 144hz for under 400. This is samsung chg70 i also have a pg279q ips and it looks much worse

Too bad all VA 1440p 144hz panels are curvedshit.

Also,
>31.5" display
that's garbage, 27" is the sweet spot for 1440p.

>when you're actually using your computer instead of just staring at a black screen to test for BLB
If I was only used my monitor for work it wouldn't be an issue, but I also watch a lot on it and game where IPS glow is noticeable. I can deal with it, but don't pretend it is a non issue. Will dump the tech as soon as something better comes along.

microLED

Well it never bothered me, I had a TN panel side by side and the glow didn't bugger the display quality at all. There's very minimal glow in mine, maybe that's why. Other anons have said the same.

that image makes VA look better than it actually is. VA looks like trash in real life.

tnlets seething ITT

Full bandwidth 1440p @ 120hz (8-bit*) should only be 14gbps. 1440x2560x32x120 = 14155776000 bits. 14Gbps. Just switch your TV to PC or gaming mode and see if you can set a custom resolution from your PC to 1440p 120hz.

*8-bit since consumer GPU drivers won't support 10-bit unless it's HDR, even then it's not clear because HDR support on Windows still sucks ass from what I heard. Normally only quadros and radeon pros support it, and only certain apps do (i.e photoshop).

I'm deadly allergic to backlight bleeding, so I would go with VA. Shame OLED isn't cheaper and MicroLED isn't even a thing yet.

>BLB doesn’t exist bro, all those people with issues are lying
