DVD Ripping

Hi Jow Forums boomers, I need your help. I recently bought the full Takeshi's castle Episides on dvd directly from Japan. All the episodes are on 3 DVDs, ±100 episodes each, ±1:30h each episode. Using WinX dvd ripper, a single episode takes 1h30 to render in h264. Am I doomed to wait thousands of hours or is there a quicker solution? I would love to upload all the episodes on Nyaa when I'm done

>WinX

>thousands of hours

Help an n-word out.
3 DVDs.
Each DVD has 100 episodes.
Each episode is 1.5 hours long.
This is 300 episodes, at 1.5 hours each.
To me, that comes out at 450 hours.
What's an n-word missing, holmes?

this

>install MakeMKV
>remux DVD content into MKV(s)
If you really have to reencode then use ffmpeg or Handbrake.

>OP gets to the last episode of the last DVD
>sits back and breathes out a deep sigh
>Looks at the neatly organised folders
>Opens one
>There they are, perfectly titled and ordered
>Double click on one
>VLC opens
>YING YONG YING YONG
>OP forgot to tick the option to rip the subs too

Why would anyone NOT do that?

This. Do not re-encode, if your machine is not powerful enough. It's only 3 DVDs, just rip the untouched disc image.

Well you can clearly see he didn't pick any subs from the photo he posted, nevertheless I doubt it has ever been subbed or dubbed in other languages, in Italy we had 3 comedians talking over it and doing a fake dub with lots of idiotic stuff but I'm not aware of anything else.

This will also provide the best quality possible from the source.

Impossible to find the episodes anywhere on the internet. Some rips are available on YouTube in 144p but it's like 1/4 of the episodes

no subs available on the DVDs is japanese only, bought it off yahoo auctions

there was an italian mxc?

Ok sure. Which software should I use? Imgburn tells me that the dvd is protected and that I should expect the copy to fail but I could try anyway if I want. Any software recommendations?

libdvdcss and dd

What CPU are you running?

Also what DVD/Bluray drive are you using?

I used CDBurnerXP a couple of times... It's easy to use, but be sure to download the "Without installCore" installer.

MakeMKV

Phenom II X4 955
Using an ASUS BW-16D1HT blu-ray writer

I'm running windows 7 tho

Ok will try thanks

Just installed it will try it too

>Phenom II X4 955
That's not helping anything.

You're also limited to how fast the drive can read DVDs, which in your bluray drive is between 12x and 16x speed depending on the type of DVD it is. Which would be ~16-21MB/s at most.
