Wait of you want 4k 120hz. 2019 TVs will be the first to support hdmi 2.1, allowing for 120hz 4k

Get the x90f and never look back oled is a meme

well i do have a sony receiver and sony bd player right now so that would make my setup uniform and cross share remotes

Just buy the Q9FN or the X900F.

1080p at 120hz and 4k at 60hz. What else do you really need.

Shit, didn't see your post. Get this OP, or the Q9FN. Don't bother with other models.

Not bad.. however the Q9FN starts at 65" which is way too big for my viewing room. 55" is ideally what I'd need

Well then get the X900F, it has a 55" model and it's absolutely amazing. Pretty cheap too, for what you're getting. Go for it boyo, Sony TVs are top tier.

considering I've had my CRT since 2004 maybe i should wait for the 2019 models since I probably wont buy another TV for 10 years. Will 8k and the increased bandwidth of HDMI 2.1 mean that much to me?

It's a meme, man. You won't miss out on a thing with current TVs. That's for damn sure.

Also do any of these TVs support Component video anymore (ypbpr)? I got a few sources that only use that and I suppose I could buy a Comp>HDMI converter, just adds to the cost of the upgrade I guess

Get the X900F like everybody is saying and then buy a MicroLED Quantum Dot TV when they're perfected in 10 years.

Probably not, get a converter. They are dirt cheap.

lg c9 55" for 1 .6 k when they come out later this year. they have vrr and 4k120hz

Thanks bro

i’m definitely getting 65” C9

dont fall for the burn in meme and just dont watch news shows 24/7

someday

odor LED

cant go wrong with Sony

Keep in mind that 2019 models will be much more expensive at launch than 2018 ones are right now. You'll be waiting until around Black Friday for big drops.

Most won't though.

LG have claimed HDMI 2.1 support, but have been sketchy on the details. Others have already confirmed that 4K/120Hz over HDMI isn't happening for their 2019 models, like Sony and Panasonic. Many 2018 models can already do 4K/120Hz from file sources - it's just the HDMI 2.1 chipsets and certification (or lack thereof) holding everybody back.

>poorfags

Their high end models are pretty damn mediocre right now. Their current flagship LCD is worse than their flagship from 2016 (the Z9D/ZD9). The AF9 OLED is good, but no better than the competition and overpriced.

Go with the c8

Looks comfy

If you're using your tv in a living room for live television broadcasts or for video games, a quantum dot television (QLED) will be better than an OLED. OLEDs only make since for movies in a light controlled environment.

OLEDs have near 0 response times, except when going from off to on. They're much better for games, especially if you have black frame insertion

I only have a snes, genesis, and n64. I haven't bought a modern game system since PS2

im surprised LG doesnt support HDR10 in the next release

I don’t believe it won’t support it

this place is good for talking about 4k shit
really good check it out

Not sure what content you'll be watching, but good luck. Only some bit starved YouTube videos maybe and a handful of recent action movies, and that would be it.

You don't think there will be more 4K content coming?

4k bluray with HDR duh
