WSL is slower than a retarded snail. Lots of shit is broken or doesn't work and there's nothing that WSL can do that any Linux distro can't do 100x better. It's utterly worthless. WSL is supposed to be for people who want to run Linux programs (probably basic) without having to dual-boot or switch into a VM, or use the cancer that is Cygwin.
It's pretty much perfect for a makefile on Windows involving Linux commands, for example
When I did OSDev it was quite helpful to generate a image with GRUB so I wouldn't have QEMU emulate my kernel every single fucking time (qemu-system-i386 --kernel (name).bin -d int)
