why are faggot pedos allowed to exist on this board
Bentley Morris
whoa nice, thats a good machine too

Trying to find a reasonably-priced ThinkPad on Canadian eBay is a nightmare and a half. I'm just looking for something simple and cheap to throw Mint onto for school stuff (accounting), but God damn everyone seems to have snapped their damn screens in half at least.
I have my home desktop, but I'm getting sick of doing ledgers and journal entries on paper. I'm sure I'll find one eventually, though.
Man, I really need a decent camera to take pictures.
Angel Jones
Is it worth asking an eBay seller if they will remove the HDD and OS for a discount? Any anons have any experiences to share? An 80GB spinnydisk with win7 is beyond useless for me.
Colton Collins
You could try but it's not like there's gonna be some massive discount. An HDD like that is basically worthless.
Tyler Davis
>209.99 Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm looking for something cheap(er).
Dominic Baker
Can anyone link me a HDD that is compatible with a Thinkpad T60 on Ebay, no matter the size, my HDD broke and I am too retarded to find what size I need
Julian Gutierrez
If you want something really cheap there is a seller from Ontario selling x140es for $95 + $25 shipping (in maplebux). The E1-2500 is shit but throw Lubuntu on the cheapest SSD you can find and it should be ok
Chase Campbell
fixed up a cheap x220 off ebay
$10 hdd caddy (still waiting) $45 250g SSD $15 palmrest replacement (wouldnt have had to but i broke it immedietly) $20 70%+ capacity battery replacement (included one couldn't hold charge, figures, wanted authentic lelnovo replacement) $25 ricer 9-cell to try out $80 shipped for the i5/4GB ram unit. was dirty AF but scrubbed the shit out of everything $10 grey market W10 key
how the fuck am i already $200 deep on this thing? I guess all things considered it's still more bang for buck than the chromebook I had before it. not gonna replace screen since I prefer 1 good viewing angle so people can't see me watching porn in the cafe
>$10 grey market W10 key if you're gonna use such a shit os you could have at least pirated it
Jaxon Mitchell
desu id rather pay $10 to not get "authenticate windows" every few months. W10 cracks aint like the W7 days lemme tell ya
Easton Rodriguez
Just install Ubuntu or Mint, ya goof. Or better yet, just crack Wangblows 7 if you're too stupid to figure them out.
Justin Flores
i think the soul of a retard is trapped in your x220
David Jenkins
How is the regular T440 for general shitposting and faffing about? I only ever see the T440p and T440s reccommended, so maybe I'm missing some glaring flaw in the T440. Also, I've seen a lot of people say it's better to go for a T series because the X series screen is too small. But is that in general, or for work specifically? Because honestly all I'm going to be using this for is shitposting and watching weeb cartoons.
Sebastian Davis
i might consider ubuntu dual boot but i use adobe creative suite pretty often and would rather just run it natively. i never did give running it in wine a fair shake but i just can't be bothered to save $10
Xavier Morales
They went easy on you. They should have hung you instead. You pedos deserve to bring in hell
Asher Price
Not just Canada. Haven't seen an updated version of this yet, but I assume some things have changed.
>They went easy on you that's true, I heard of a story of a guy ordering some loli stuff from japan his real name was put up on local newspaper and either had to go to jail or pay big fine for the crime, also permanently put up on sex offender list, fucking cucknadians
Adam Butler
What's the best GPU that will fit in the small form-factor thinkcentre m93p and won't go over the wattage of the stock PSU? I would be satisfied with the bare minimum of having HDMI output but I'm curious if there's something decent I can fit in there.
Christopher White
Is the battery on the X230 supposed to wiggle up and down a bit? If not, is there something that can be done about it?
Jonathan Thomas
Mine has a bit of wiggle, not much though. Are both of the latches closed?
Robert Jones
Kinda, pretty much all X230 batteries have some wiggle
Lucas Baker
Mine wiggles around slightly, wouldn't be worried about it.
Sebastian Kelly
>Are both of the latches closed? Yes :(
Alexander Young
>x201 overheats when trying to make a webm in mpv its got new thermal paste can it just not handle this stuff kek
Hunter Hill
What's a good cheap CPU for my T60?
Aiden Cruz
where are some good indie/older games thatll run on an x220?
Wyatt Davis
Touhou and Dwarf Fortress are the ones I play the most.
Nicholas Myers
Anyone here who's replaced the charging port on their X230?
is the difference between the Carolinas purely due to Charlotte?
Connor Scott
Would an X230 or X250 be a better replacement for my old Macbook Air? They're about the same price over here.
Gabriel Perez
x250 has better battery life so, probably that
Landon Scott
Me. It was a pain in the ass. Those ports are very poorly made.
Lincoln Johnson
I have no idea, some user made that over in Jow Forums a few years ago.
Caleb Hill
Did it on my X61 - piece of cake, just make sure you neatly tuck all the wires back appropriately. Please help me bro's.
Tyler Turner
the x250 keyboard and trackpad are going to feel much better and more familiar for you coming from a macbook, and the x250 has much better battery life especially if you buy the 6 cell battery. They also come default with an IPS panel and SSDs. Just make sure you get at least the i5 version since that one can take up to 16gb of RAM.
Jayden Russell
the x61 is different from the x220/x230 imo much more of a pain in the ass on the x230
Chase Nguyen
repalce the thermal paste while youve got it open it's barely a pain in the ass i took my x230 apart numerous times
Leo Anderson
Here I don't know how I shorted mine the other, but yeah its easy... >repalce the thermal paste So tedious, you gotta remove the MoBo/unscrew everything unlike the T6x.
Isaiah Watson
Can you clean the shine off new thinkpad keyboards? I found a nice T540 on ebay but its filthy
Blake Kelly
maybe I just had shit luck, because the connector was a pain in the ass
I've had connectors on the older models get loose and pushed in all the time, it was a pain. My x230, t420 and t410 all had to have their power jack fixed or replaced at some point. Poor design imo. At least it's cheap and repairable.
Liam Bell
That's the ABS plastic keycaps wearing, you can't really do anything about it. Just get a new keyboard.
Brody Robinson
I meant off the modern style keyboard. It's not brand new
thanks. i think i watched it a long time ago or wanted to watch it.
Ayden Morgan
fucking based well deserved, don't lewd the lolis
Daniel Robinson
There is nothing wrong with pedophilia
Wyatt Morris
Say I order an E485 with the default 500 GB hard drive, and one 4GB ram stick. If I open the laptop up to insert an m2 ssd and two 8gb ram sticks, will those slots be there?
If I never boot up the computer out of the box, how will I get the windows license to do in a fresh install?
Thomas Parker
>get an X220T >decent condition on the surface >pretty happy >why the fuck does this run so hot tho >open it up >so much fucking dust
I worked for a major manufacturer refurbishing electronics. Referb techs were always the least competent techs. Refurb is like the entry level for electronics repair.
anyway, who is the seller, so we know what to expect
Jordan Smith
Never ever buy refurbished, buy used. Referbished = damaged. Used = still working and probably never damaged. Do the refurbishing yourself.
X230 came in and was quite surprised by how much shit I had to remove to replace the thermal paste compared to my W520.
Overall pretty nice. I appreciate the reduced size. The chiclet keyboard isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I still plan to replace it with the X220 keyboard.
Anyone know what the best fan is for the x230? Quick google search tells me to grab the AVC model or the Delta model since I unfortunately have the Toshiba fan. Anyone got any input here?
Isaiah Wood
put some electrical tape in between the battery and the shell; stops the wiggle X201 are known to overheat some; same cooling solution as the X200 but the CPU has twice as many threads -- X220 solved this problem by adding more airflow pretty easy - you can always upgrade RAM - not sure if you need a SATA to M.2 adapter; you might, in which case you'd need one from Lenovo.. ask someone on Reddit who owns that model (no one really has newer thinkpads here) - Windows license is tied to the motherboard so don't worry about that I have a W520 and X230 too! (and dislike them both..) .. never had any problems with my X230's fan, it was always very quiet for me (unlike W520 POS) so no experience there, sorry
When my x220 is plugged into my 90W charger the touchpad gets very jittery and is pretty much unusable. This seems to be a known issue since I've found several other threads/articles on this problem, but not really any good solutions. Is there anything I can do to fix this behavior or am I stuck with it? I'm on arch linux if that matters.
Alexander Lopez
Yeah, disable the touchpad you fucking incel.
Sebastian Thompson
umad bro?
Chase Garcia
I don't have a reddit account but I should probably make one. They would probably advise me to get a T580 or P52s.
I saw from this teardown vid: youtube.com/watch?v=IDkoD0iF-Xs It appears that the M.2 slot is there even if it's not used. I just want to verify that is the case with the AMD model.
we actually kind of covered this subject in one of my law classes (not specifically lolis, but this kind of borderline illegal content). My professor told us that even though this shit is technically illegal you will pretty much never be penalized for it, since it can be very difficult to prove it isn't an expression of art/speech.
what should i put in the expresscard slot on my x200s?
ive noticed that most usb3 expresscards have a DC input port. How much power can the USB3 ports provide if NOT using this DC port? I am hoping it can at least output as much power as the USB2 ports
Anything else cool I can stick in there?
Lincoln Morgan
You make it sound like you have to be an astronaut to repaste incel
Grayson Sullivan
>technically illegal Technically illegal means it's illegal. It's like speeding on the highway; everyone does it, even the cops, but if they're in a bad mood or want to make an example, you don't have a leg to stand on.
Ethan Stewart
eh, I'd phrase it more like speeding 5 over the limit. You're technically speeding and breaking the law but no police officer will pull you over because of how difficult it'll be for the case to not get thrown out/appealed in court.
Gabriel Myers
T440p for 250 a good deal? i7, 8 8gigs ram, but graphics card only 1 gig. should I bite?
James Diaz
Any tips for a T60 with maximum 1024x768 screen running Debian? (Frist Thinkpad i have, bougth in this week)
from what I've seen, there's a few people there that own E585 and really like them; the >Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™! mentality doesn't apply there as much.
Cooper Ortiz
It pisses me off that so many 'review' sites often place Macs and Surfaces atop their 'business laptop' review compilations.
There really isn't a better working laptop then thinkpads but by god wtf were lenovo thinking removing dedicated media and function keys.
David White
But he is right. Those touchpads are fucking trash.
