Is it okay to list questionable projects on a resume?

I've been looking for a new job recently and the career path I want to go into is cloud systems. My current job has nothing to do with setting up cloud infrastructure besides just backing up stuff to azure.

However I've done a good amount of work in the past working with cloud systems for an adult cam website, I'm proud of my work but I think it might come off as sketchy to a potential employer. Should I put it on my resume or leave it off?

Not sure you'd be able to pull off "Jacking off in front of a cam" as "Working with cloud systems".

idk but managing such sites would probably require some skill. must be really high bandwidth stuff

It depends on the company you're applying to. Most of the Western ones will be ok and find it useful. In the US, if you're facing a biggot that'll be bad but it's the Russian roulette. In very religious countries it's a no

Leave out the adult part. "Set up a high-traffic system with low latency requirements" or something like that. Your employer doesn't give a crap if the data being sent out were titties or checksums.

>pull off
Fnar fnar!

Your prospective employer would have to be retarded if they cared about the smut aspect. Just focus on the technical aspect and leave out the gory details unless they ask. Don't be evasive if they want to know more.

This. Say it was for a media company.

Did you work as a consultant or contractor? Just say that your client is confidential and go over the work in the abstract. This happens all the time.

just desc. it as 'adult entertainment' - if an employer gave a fuck about that, its not an employer you should be giving a fuck over, unless mad religious sect or some shit. Why you no work porn, good cash + job with future prospects

are you the fag that made the previews constantly update and move around. oh theres one i could whack it to.... and its gone and i cant find it.

Contractor, this seems like solid advice. I'm going to do this.

haha, trust me I want to strangle that guy too. I never touched any UI, only the underlying infrastructure.

this. I miss when every recommendation was deterministic and you could go back to the previous vid and chose another one

You don't have to put in the company name you worked for, just what it was about.

Do it with out mentioning the company in your resume. And if you get invited to an interview and they ask about it, then it's ok to mention the work you did. But put the emphasis more on the technology used. You want to distance yourself from the porn aspect. And emphasize the technology you facilitated to make the tech work.

> if you're facing a biggot that'll be bad
How is not wanting to hire some sleazeball who worked in the pornographic/sex trafficking industry make one a "bigot"? Have words just lost all meaning?

Just call it a major adult streaming website.

>all these people that think you have to tell the truth
tech people really are like those in that cartoon

Focus on the high bandwidth and traffic aspect as said, you don't have to go into details, just say 'high profile adult site', unless they want it spelled out. Say it with a cheeky grin, don't hunch your back and wash before you go in. Maybe even put a photo of yourself if you've got Chad features.

It will be less dodgy if you profile pic is you standing outside in the Sun.

Just be as sincere in your resume like this cool wine aunt
