yeah user it's a lot worse on ubuntu

no, really, don't use ubuntu

Enterprise LTSC doesn't have this problem

But my Windows 7 didn't had any candy crushes or similar

yes, the point being that ubuntu is the windows 10 of distros, popular but bloated and inferior to the other flavors

install freebsd

Most people here would tell you to install anything but Ubuntu (not even the good versions, like X/K/Lubuntu), so Jow Forums didn't say shit.

I like Mint

No idea where were you looking but Jow Forums is literally saying "install Gentoo". If you fucked up such a simple thing you should just abandon all technology altogether, it's not for you.

Use manjaro. Its better than amazon bloatware.

why did you install 12.10

It still comes with amazon

there's an option to download ubuntu without all the bloat

i didn't see that in xubuntu

Xubuntu doesn't come with amazon, also the "Minimal installation" radio button is somewhat new

it can't, it doesn't use unity

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

/diy/ a noose and use it

hello op. i am here to give you an honest opinion regarding linux.
you either have time to waste getting somewhat comfortable with it (ie. having lots of spare time to learn a thing or two by using shitty hobbyist distributions – such as arch – that force you to learn to fix things) or you should probably just stay on windows/mac.
after the initial getting to know things phase, I recommend debian. debian has a good philosophy and applies it well. it won't break if you don't do anything silly. and on the rare occasion that it does break, fixes are usually not that hard – provided you already have SOME linux experience – and the community has great support. cheers

>flavors
Fuck off.

*hugs*

It's almost like Ubuntu is a normie honeypot
