Old Phones

What are some of your old favorites lads, for me it's the N95 only issue was that it would have a 15 second lag when powering up but other then that this thing was flawless & could even watch movies if you converted them into 480x360 resolution

>mfw watching the entire first season of the X-files late at night

So much this

I wouldn't trade my modern smartphone for it, but for its time this was the best phone I've ever owned.

Attached: sony-ericsson-w810i-full-1.jpg (593x384, 35K)

This. Basically the Japanese Nokia nobody talked about. Also back when Sony's stuff was actually made in Japan.

>fuck off the nexus 4 isn't old what are you underag-
>the fourth smartphone in the Google Nexus product family, unveiled on October 29, 2012, and released on November 13, 2012
damn

I always wanted the black N95, but at that time I didn't have the money. I might just buy one on ebay, if they don't cost too much (haven't checked the price).

Moto X is the best phone I have ever owned. Why can't they just rerelease it with modern specs. I miss it bros.

It's truly like a mad scientist experiment

I had a sony w850 which was far better built than the nokia 6280, only downside was the memory stick instead of mini sd

Attached: sonyericssonw850-1355917110-0.jpg (1200x849, 184K)

Yes. I loved that phone.

Nokia was out of time of their innovations. because of finnish autism they are too fast to innovate even before such technologies are cool. Too bad they got cucked by first iPhone and Android and lastly backstabbed by microsoft with their Lumia.
>all communicator series +Eseries
>N93(i) camcroder models
>N91

Besides the shit battery live, this phone was the shit.

Is this bait? That phone was dogshit. It could unlock in your pocket and call people and the build quality was insanely poor. Everyone I knew with that phone had multiple cracked buttons.

not bait, i didnt have any of those issues, ive still got it somewhere

Lusted after one of these a decade ago...
Then I actually used it holy fuck it was slow my wifi itouch gen 3 was faster and I used my 6120c for calls

hell yeah, sony ericssons were the shit. i had so much fun with the videodj and musicdj apps.

Attached: 1513362562111.png (513x368, 3K)

This is most iconic Sony model.

Attached: 1116-012-Original-SONY-CMD-Z1-Plus-Mobile-Phone-07.jpg (1000x1000, 219K)

Eseries was god-tier

Works fine for me, pretty snappy, it's basically a Linux laptop, you have to know what you're doing. No way would I have ever recommended it as a phone for anyone, not even when it was new.

I vaguely remember that.
I remember the ui and touch screen being absolutely abysmal as was everything Nokia from 07 onwards

I never had one, but my friend did. This phone was like a Nokia 3310, but with touchscreen. He intentionally dropped from the veranda from the third floor and it was completely undamaged. Not even the backplate came off.

Not him, but my experience was that the Sonys used much nicer materials and had better fit and finish, so they felt like much higher quality phones, at least when new. The Nokias were definitely more rugged though.

now that was a phone. fuck your bloated piece of "technology"

Attached: T1GcpjFmNaXXXXXXXX_!!0-item_pic.jpg (700x500, 90K)

I'd still be using this if I hadn't broken it. It's in my drawer with a cracked screen and digitizer

I still miss that keyboard.

Attached: Blackberry_8800.jpg (2014x3108, 3.26M)

I still use my blackberry torch 9810 for as a music player, the built in amp is damn good, the thing is built like a tank, and the battery lasts a week straight playing music the whole time, and I can swap the battery if I ever needed

N900 shills are still alive?

>Why can't they just rerelease it with modern specs. I miss it bros.
motorola went full retarded with MUH MOTOMODS! WE WASTED MONEY ON THIS

I miss good Nokia phones so much

Love this little baby. Had 3 of them. Good times.

Why not? Its one of the greatest phones ever made

ah man, i used to have one of those. pretty kickass. was a spiderman 3 promotional thing, so it came with the whole movie preinstalled. watched spiderman 3 so many times on this thing. i remember how mind blowing it was to watch films on my phone

Still using my C3. Still solid as a rock. I haven't been able to use it for emails and internet in a while tho.

I miss how patrician it made me look.

You guys wouldn't understand.

>Orange on black plastic
Why does this get to me so fucking much?
One of the least appreciated styles of the 2000's.
Sure, mostly on cheap candybars, but still, HNNNNNG

Tales from the riverside say they died all the fucking time.
I only had one, and it lasted me for years. Anyone remember anything to the contrary?

flipphone comeback soon (pls)

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 221K)

I still use my straight, white and male Lumia 930 with Windows Phone 8.1 to record gigs and such. The microphone in it is great.

Don't you mind MS spying on you?

i really doubt that they would still bother spying on a dead platform

>if you converted them into 480x360 resolution
it easily played 720p with hombrew iirc
i still have it somewhere in my basement i remember i've played some russian bootleg heroes 3 port on it

As I said I had 3; first one died in 4 months, second one 6 months and the final one lasted up to my first iPhone (3GS). Apparently the wires that ran to the screen would degrade by being bent with the flipping open/close. Seems QC was very hit or miss.
Gimme a flip or vertical slide phone with current day power and I’ll jump at it

>touch

W-Wait, how old did you say you were again, Jow Forums?

Same. Got one, played with it for maybe a month, realized it wasn't the future.

Sold it and got a Nexus One instead.

Had one of these. This is making me nostalgic.

Sliders were my favorite form factor because I could use them closed. There's no reason to type on a phone. My last one was SE W760, there has actually been a decent modding scene for it, like running native binaries, there's even been a decent doom port.

I wish I still had that little thing. Worked amazing with a ClockworkMod.

Attached: x10 mini pro.jpg (480x303, 24K)

I still use it. Looks really cool, but content is utter flaming horseshit and must be configured for months before it can work.

I tried to get verizon to activate this for me. Didnt happen. Feels bad man.

Attached: startac.jpg (1094x730, 98K)

Back in the time I though this phone was pretty cute, but it was so fucking useless. Literally any mid range phone had 3G and any other phone could record videos. I still can't believe appledrones would do it again, crediting apple for "revolutionizing" the phone world, while releasing a shitty, crippled product.

You remember phones very differently than I do. While shitty by today's phone standards...phones were WAY shittier than the iPhone in 07. It's best competition was the Blackberry of all things. Nowadays though that isn't the same.

BASED user

I've had this old LG Optimus for seven years. I think i'm just going to turn it into a dedicated MP3 player and audiobook player. Anything else I can still do with this thing?

Attached: What do I do with it now.jpg (1504x2016, 315K)

you should be able to take it to somewhere like Metro PCS they'll handle it for ya

set an alarm to vibrate and shove in pooper

Nokia N73. Shit had one hell of a camera. Hell one of my first video in YouTube was shot using that phone and the video was pretty good even for 2018 standard

Any type of tech is old after a few years. You're trying to compare ages of people with ages of a device which is a false equivalency. A phone that is eight years old is fucking ancient in terms of progression changes. While eight years ago, you were probably relatively the same except for a little bit of a weight change. The first touch screen phones where introduced in 2007. That's well a decade and plenty of time to shit talk early touch screens.

wanted this thing

Attached: Nokia-NGage-LL.jpg (1200x685, 158K)

Shit's over 10 years old man, most of us had totally different lives that far back, plus with the explosion in typical phone diversity and capabilities around the turn of the 2010s there's a lot more to talk about, can't do much with old flip phones other than use them as phones and a practically speaking they were all pretty much the same aside from different looking outsides and maybe an occasional media gimmick.

Shit's all cool though, whatever. I'd like to start collecting Treos eventually.

This

Attached: no2300_00.jpg (421x450, 46K)

No system updates, shitty camera and hardware specs from two years ago. Another Moto X sounds like a great idea

Loved this

n770. used to rock one of these back in the day. the lcars skin was a thing of beauty.

This was fucking cool at the time, it is so comfy recording things like camcorder.

Pic related was owned by my mom, I fucking love touching it.

Attached: snp800_00.jpg (340x400, 35K)

I fucking loved the aesthetics of Sony Ericson slider phones. The w715 being the sexiest.

I looked into buying one a few months ago. Problem is so much of it runs off servers(the GPS, the wireless music) that it's essentially useless, and that's assuming you have a battery with a charge... Which you won't since the things like 13 years old and all the cells for it are long dead.

Attached: SE-W715-S-2.jpg (370x352, 55K)

Watching videos on a phone was a whole new experience for 9yo me. I loved this fucking thing.
technopat.net/db/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/i-mate-PDA2k-600x600.jpg

because you are a zoomer

Don't forget the optional numberpad you could swap in. Because, you know, T9 was faster than poking keyboard keys with a stylus.

Attached: sony-ericsson-p800-mobile-phone-large-1.jpg (300x400, 14K)

Who needs a slider when you have a spinner?

There were so many more interesting designs back when every phone didn't look the same.

BOW TO YOUR SENSEI

Attached: file.png (400x400, 174K)

Yea, shit was cash

One of the guys at HS had one of these, I was jealous.

True, but this one was perfectly balanced as a phone. God damn I miss the jog dial...

wtf none of you fucked with the juke? holy shit this thing lasted me YEARS.

>PUMP IT.

I remember lusting after the luxury version of that phone.

Attached: motorola_aura.jpg (845x391, 75K)

Wow, I've never seen that. Circular screen, visible gears on the back, and $2,000 in 2008. I love it, what a fitting end to an era.

It's cheaper than ever and still awesome for playing around if you're into Linux and programming

I had one of these bad boys in high-school. I kinda miss numpad typing, anyone else feel the same way?

Attached: nokia-6300.jpg (684x1024, 66K)

This is probably my favorite phone I ever owned, it's so fucking compact

Attached: s-l1000[1].jpg (1000x1000, 116K)

I stilla have an old blackberry z 10. Shame that they are gone
