needs less charging
thus the battery has a longer service life
Batteries only have so many charge cycles if you can avoiding eating up charging cycles, your battery and subsequently your phone will have a much longer lifespan

I actually don't mind it being big, maybe not that big tho. But I did appreciate my old 4S with it's power case, since it actually got way better to hold.
The shitty thing about this model is that it goes full retard and not even fully uses it's potential of being big, like a way better camera, shit's thic enough to have lossless zoom like digital cameras and huge sensors, plus a headphone jack and even a bigger loudspeaker. There are so many things it could include and it's just a huge battery.
