install gentoo

install funtoo

It's a C IDE by default

Install the acme text editor.

install editor.exe

vim-bootstrap.com/

you can read up on the instructions in the repo: github.com/avelino/vim-bootstrap

The first time I used it, I forgot to install the plugins, so it worked by only kind of. There are a lot of nifty keyboard shortcuts implemented, just read up on them in the repo!

tmux + vim or neovim

If you turn it into a C IDE then there is no longer any point in using Vim, why would you download something lightweight and turn it into something bulky? Use something that was created with the intention of being a bulky IDE if that's what you want or are you trying to be a fag poser

There is a plugin for anything.

Just install spacevim.

This. I prefer sam, but plan9 from user space utils are comfy.

No

Uninstall vim, install emacs

He asked for an IDE not an operating system.

What you’re referring to is what I like to call gnu+emacs

1. curl -sLf spacevim.org/install.sh | bash
2. Add [[layers]]
name = "lang#c"' to your config
3. Run Vim

done

Whatever it is, it works orders of magnitude better than vim. Compilation hooks and gdb integration right out of the box.

:!gcc filename.c -o executable && ./executable

You think people here want something that just werks and not whatever fits their autistic desires.

You realize you're trying to shill vim while saying this, right?

I don't even use Vim but OP asked a question about it.
