>Ten years

In one and a half years the Xiaomi Redmi Ford will be better than that at 1/5th of the price.

10 years from now OP will realize he's gay

>ford

Kek'd

No. It's another shit fad.

rather get a tablet tbqh

that's what we said about touchscreen phone and look where we are now

Sure, right now they suck, hard.

It's not the same. Foldable screens don't really add anything knew we didn't already have. We have tablets, we have smart phones, so why would people pay a high price for something that combines them. With touch screens it was something very new.

Reminder that Taiwan is an independent state

Nobody said that, and touchscreen phones have been pretty common in businesses even years before the ishitphone was released

It might be true if the design catches on, but I’ll be fucked if I’m spending anywhere near 2-grand on a fucking porn-dispensing rectangle

Why would anyone want to own a ten year old smartphone?

>screen folds from the outside
This is basically regression unless they figure out how not the make the screen plastic and still fold because that screen will get tore up so easily

The way things are going if we don't stop the childish bullshit - in 10 years we will all be using one of these.

5 years you absolute retard. 3 years for mainstream adoption

You know.. this is the first bending device I've seen I'd actually want to own. I think I see the potential.

>why would people not want a more versatile device that combines the functions of multiple devices
I don't know, ask all the people who still use dumbphones and separate PDAs in 2019.
Only technically, you'd have to be retarded to call a Winmo or Palm smartphone a true touch screen device though.

>you'd have to be retarded to call a Winmo or Palm smartphone a true touch screen device though.
The term has been used for such devices since decades

attach a psion keyboard like the gemini pda to the fat piece, make it run mainline linux with something like plasma mobile on the external screen when keyboard closed-screen folded, something like plasma mobile but landscape when keyboard open- screen folded and switch to tilling wm when keyboard open-screen unfolded the perfect autism phone i would die to have.

Sure, but you'd never actually want to use one with your fingers. I think I agree with that guy that the iShit capacative touch paradigm is something that was similarly viewed as a meme that turned into something far greater. At the very least I could see devices like these continuing to fill out the high-end.

>you'd have to be retarded to call a Winmo or Palm smartphone a true touch screen device though.
you must be over 18 to post here

Not if I kill myself first. Off to /b/ to craft a suicide post. Adios cruel world.

>soft plastic screens
>In anyway durable

I literally still use a fucking Tungsten T in 2019. At best they're uncomfortable as fuck to operate with your fingers, on average they're completely unusable.

who even care, poser nerd geekfags that buy shit like this will replace it the next year.

>We have x, we have y, so why would people pay a high price for something that combines them

You are correct. I'd own one now if I wasn't poorfag with emotional connection to my OPO. I was actually once shopping for new phone and couldn't do it when I was comparing this battered little devil to new one.

>we have screens, we have buttons, so why would people pay a high price for something that combines them
>we have telephones, we have pagers, so why would people pay a high price for something that combines them
>we have horse-drawn buggies, we have engine-driven trains, so why would people pay a high price for something that combines them

>if it has a digitizer it's a touch screen, the marketers told me
>obviously has never even seen an old smartphone, let alone actually used one
waiting on your balls to drop first, retard

i'm not sure about it. the screen aspect is off. not good to watch videos, useless for single app usage (what most people still do). drainage must be huge.

If it's not recognised and represented in UN, it's not, therefore it's not, Ching Chong. Taiwan will always be Japanese territory.

I'll probably have one by the end of the year.
It's the coolest thing to happen to smartphones.

Nah.
Apple won't "invent" folding screens for another 15 years.

Taiwan was never Japanese.
It was Dutch before it turned Han.
The Dutch genocided the natives (who were neither Han nor Japanese)

10 years from now nobody will give a fuck

This shit will be forgotten just like notch.

How in the fuck do I put a screen protector on this

Irrelevant until Apple invents it.

aint buying that shit unless its totally forced on me

i hope they dont invent that shit at all
its fucking sucks.

/thread

When will Intel go out of business? With devices like this most people won't need a PC or laptop with a power hungry x86 chip inside anymore.

Un-fucking-likely.

Simple, you just buy the samsung foldable which has sensible design.

No, these are a fad.

Nahh it's like slider phones or flip phones, definitely a fad.

>sensible design
ohnonono

>“I feel having two screens, a front screen and a back screen, makes the phone too heavy
Perhaps, who knows.
Everyone feels like having 1 screen being scraped constantly is an impossible design choice.

If you think people wouldn't something that allows them to have a bigger screen when they want to watch netflix or whatever and still carry with ease you're literally retarded.

I can't wait for people to notice how these new plastic displays are not exactly scratch-proof.

10 years from now everyone will laugh at how not durable the plastic shit is and OLED blue led fades in less than a few years

I'd much rather a ZTE axon with smaller bezels
