truth be told vi sucks for anything that doesn't involve quick configuration edits on a remote machine.

GNU Emacs, as any tech literate person would.
>Vim
Pathetic.

Use notepad++ it's better than stock notepad for writing scripts and shit.

Wordpad/Word for regular documents. I don't see the reason to use plain text unless its code then whatever ide/notepad2-mod is what I use. At minimum rtf files are nicer than plain text and those are cross platform without any line ending issues, plus you can use wordpad to fix linux text file lines so they look normal on windows.

Take your shitty codebase and go suck some ugandan dick, retard

Starting to use bbedit instead, but I've been using TextEdit for years.

notepad++

vi vi vi is the editor of the beast

kwrite and nano

nice dude
fyi editpad pro is the most efficient editor for large files (1gb+ txt large). It doesn't try to load the whole file in memory at once. It does memory buffers. Try opening a 4gb txt file in other editors and they will crumble. EPP breezes through them.

I use sublime. I actually write all my sms messages in Sublime and mvoe them over to my Note by webDAV and then share them into sms app

new level of autism right here

Try opening a 2TB txt file not in Emacs VLF mode and they will crumble.

Thanks.
This thread was getting boring.

LibreOffice

GNU awk

dude the point is EPP doesn't load the whole file. It doesn't matter how big it is...

Notepad on Windows, nano or leafpad on Linux.

cat

Vi != Vim

Kate

>Less than 100 replies.

Go back to /reddit/, nu-grammer scum.

Notepad++

At work I use it to make minor fixes to bank-generated .csv files of cleared checks to be uploaded to the company's financial system.

At home I use it to occasionally create or modify simple vector graphics used in route diagram templates on Wikipedia like pic related.

Very useful tool. Maybe if I had this when I was in college I would have been more willing to stick it out with CS instead of getting my nearly worthless BBA.
