The problem as I see it is not how do you solve the problem of automation and ai, but how do you move from the present situation to the solution, without society completely collapsing in the process? In other words, solutions are easy because talk is cheap, what you need to explain is all the steps required to get from the problem to the solution without mass starvation, without total nutcases roaming around killing people for no reason, without a breakdown of law and order?

UBI would incentivize this (or at least enable this). when jobs are much less common this would be pretty attractive

Watch what Andrew Yang, or anyone who's studied AI industries says. Any sort of locomotion is actually really fucking hard, like extremely hard. Just from a processing perspective it's just tons of sensory input and lots of raw computing power. Not to mention all the motors. That means everything about it needs tons of power and a fair amount of hardware.

The first things to go will be menial service and cognitive tasks. Stuff like taking orders? No problem. Next is analyzing and profiling documents and images like legal documents and medical records or images. In fact, it's not even next, it's just held up by regulation and pushback from companies but expect it to come in the next like 10 years unless bureaucrats deadlock it

A lot of people didn't change jobs though. It was mostly their kids who grew up, moved to job dense locations, and sent the money back.

There's this myth that everyone just washed their hands of their old jobs and just changed careers at the snap of a finger. Plenty of people who suffered the most in those early economic revolutions were fucking mentally retarded and couldn't even read. They didn't do shit, they had like 5 to 8 kids who actually got the new jobs and supported them. America right now is moving towards childlessness, kids can barely support their parents now. When you're a decrepit piece of shit in your 40s or 50s and your job disappears what are you going to do? Just learn a new Phd level subject and get a new job? In what time retard.

If we're not going to come up with a real internal solution for it then yea. We need someone who can get those jobs and pay taxes

Jokes aside most Americans will live off of basic income, and I suppose not all of them will be willing to work. So someone would have to work in service industry

Goverment regulates food and water production.
So nobody has to worry about will they get to eat or buy water bottles because tap water is rancid.

Goverment hires multiple independant units to watch and research edfiency for these things.

We get most sustainable and efficient products. Razors, nail clippers, soaps, shoes from goverment online stores. There is private sector also. But in my eyes wont survive long unless gov pays licenses for using their tech. Gov also has units to research effiency in these fields.

Health sector same. Just gov collects privacy respecting data from patients to improve effiency. Then this data is open access which will help to create meta methods of diagnose and treatment.

Gov has to regulate birth rate so some hill billies wont increase expotentially.

Education gets the same effiency treatment as I wrote before. Everybody has to get schooled or we will have people who can abuse uneducated with populism. Uneducated are unable to be scientific and calm.

About evolution we have to simulate the future so next generations are more efficient and capable.

Gov regulates eating. Eating disorders (ex. fat people who cant lose it) will be put on a diet and helped.

Gov will elevate people. No longer unproductive because of worrying about safety, money for food, lack of enviroment, information, health..
