Yes, it's a terrible resource hog. As is macos. You'd do yourself a service by switching to a real OS and sticking to text editors and terminal whenever possible

>Yes, Goyim, use VMWare

Atom for everything

>Web development
>text editor & terminal

Great idea, fag.

>inb4 only C++ & ASM h4x0r3rz are Jow Forums

>VMWare
this is also unacceptable

>muh KVM

What should one use then?

>modify your vmoptions.ini from -Xmx756M to -Xmx8GB+
>Java uses 8GB+

Wow! Technology board!

I've been doing webdev with gvim and a terminal for 3 years now. There's absolutely no reason to need an """IDE""" for editing simple .js files (especially since language servers are a thing now so you can get autocompletion etc in a normal text editor). I also ditched macos a year ago for Linux and boy was that a good call, fuck that toy OS.

>I also ditched macos a year ago for Linux
Enjoy your shitty display scaling
Enjoy your shitty tearing
Enjoy your shitty battery life
Enjoy your buggy applications
Enjoy your inconsistent GUI

Yeah, GNU/Linux is a great desktop OS.

libvirt + qemu obviously

Why the fuck would anyone use WebStorm over a sophisticated editor for Web Development?

And this is coming from a Scala developer who heavily uses IntelliJ

>Enjoy your shitty display scaling
No issues here, a HD screen is completely enough for a 15" laptop though
>Enjoy your shitty tearing
No?
>Enjoy your shitty battery life
My Dell actually lasts longer than my mac did, which is pretty impressive
>Enjoy your buggy applications
Lol, finder is buggier than any linux software I've used.
>Enjoy your inconsistent GUI
Right back at you, macfag

I'll just sit here enjoying my comfy Kubuntu box while you seethe

>jetbrains is resource hog
>lets use "text editor" that is nodejs backend with chrome instance runing js app

Fucking retard.

I'm not who you're arguing with but macOS arguably has the most consistent UI out there. Especially in comparison with shit like GTK+ and QT.

And what's wrong with Finder? It's actually one of the more stable native applications since Snow Leopard when it was rewritten in Cocoa.

Just feel like you're espousing some clouded views there.

>""""HD""""screen
>768p TN garbage

current state of linux fags.

Never touched on resource hogging. Just said Atom for everything. Take that cactus out your anus, raging brainlet

>use jetBrains
>forces you to use /env/
What did they mean by this?

>And what's wrong with Finder? It's actually one of the more stable native applications since Snow Leopard when it was rewritten in Cocoa.
I had visual glitches with it at least once a week. Sometimes the spacebar preview got stuck. And if you through images too fast with preview open the preview will stop working. There was all other kinds of fuckery too, never had such problems on Dolphin, not even Windows Explorer

That sounds odd. I've only ever had issues with Finder reading/writing with dying hard drives or removable media. Other than that it's been pretty good since Leopard.

What were you running it on?

El Capitan mostly, I admit

I meant what device.

MBPr 2015. Not that it matters at this point

That is strange then. The problems you're describing sound like pre-Tiger or hackintosh. I'm on a late 2013 rMBP and I've had zero issues that come to mind since Yosemite.

tearing is an xorg issue not linux. if you use a wm with wayland you dont get tearing. pretty sure debian used gnome with wayland out of the box

imagine being so retarded you cant enable Vsync.

why not install mojave it's pretty comfy

Said no one except JetBrains salesman

Except that's how you actually develop websites, you absolute retard. FTP connection, browser and a decent text editor is everything you actually need.
Web development IDEs are for pajeets and brainlets who can't into web search or reading the docs.

Clicking those 2 checkboxes sure is hard and complicated

iTODDLERS BTFO

>thread about bloat
>be proud for using editor that is biggest bloat possible

You are not getting away.
Fucking retard.

>just use chrome bro

Google Chrome is literally cancer.

>sublime 1.5 G
How?

>1366x768

it's based on jvm what did you expect?

>FirefoxCP Web Content
I knew all open source people are pedophiles.

What editor do you recommend?

Thank you Jow Forums for never letting me forget how all of you are a bunch of NEETs too poor to buy another ram stick

>indexes your entire project
>bad
brainlet

VS Code..

Even more bloat. Better to have jvm than whole fucking nodejs backend, chrome, and js app runing your "editor".

What you're saying doesn't even make sense because unless you're a JS dev who works with nodejs backends, there is absolutely no point in using Webstorm.

>slow
>guest additions broken
>has to constantly work around hypervisor bugs
qemu is a meme

>slow
>KVM doesn't exist
>"guest additions"
VirtIO is the best paravirtualization
>hypervisor bugs
like what?

>how about y
>y is not perfect, and I will not be bothered to modify it to suit my needs

>VirtIO is the best paravirtualization
It's slow as shit, even with KVM. stop making excuses for your shitty software
