Cause tiling is love

maybe if it used x11 libraries instead of gtk trash

Kde looks nicer and is more functional

because CDE is better

Openbox tries too hard to comply with "standards", so the user is at the mercy of GNOME and FreeDesktop when dealing with things like window decorations. And it's configured with XML. And there's no way to control it remotely; the user can only assign actions to keybinds, then send fake keyboard input to Openbox. Overall, it uses more resources and is less capable than other Blackbox descendants, like Fluxbox.

This
OP hasn't discovered tiling yet

Literally "I have no idea what I'm talking about: the post". Disconnect yourself from all networks.

i like that i can use dockapps with it but they're so fucking tiny. also i have to use yasnippet to make menu editing bearable.

you can probably use extermal tools

window managers are bloat

the other BB descendants don't have pipe menus though, right? i wrote my own mpd remote for the menu

>implying

t. ramlet who uses openbox because a full DE would take too much RAM

This, I love OB but awesome can do pretty much anything I'd ever want out of a wm

That looks like shit.

>terminal and menu is some gnome 2 era design
>file manager is a windows 9x era design
What a mess, disgusting.

I tried it's alright but I don't like how it looks, I settled on fvwm

openbox has no dependencies on gtk2, it uses its own themes. you can use whatever file manager you want too.

openbox is for faggets and it's made by wymyn.

because i'm happy with fluxbox

Because I use Sway - the only acceptable window manager in 2019 (other than Weston).

lol

too many options ie not ''simple'', for example
workspace_layout tabbed
hide_edge_borders smart
in i3 is all you need, simple
also it's dead, i doubt it has seen any real dev for some time and will most likely remain that way
so,
complex
abandoned
and 2bh ugly
also no xcb

if you want a desktop you're better off with xfce
otherwise i3 is all you need

yeah but you need a cdrom and my macbook doesn't have those

>blog poster say Wayland bad!
Do your own research. That post is ~8 years old anyway.

I don't like relying on the mouse and would rather be able to do everything with my keyboard and some simple defined, shortcuts.

What more is there to be said other than Wayland is garbage by people flailing and poorly re-implementing X? Do you think anything has changed in eight years about the *fundamental* flaws in Wayland? It hasn't and you're a moron.

I'm too lazy to move windows manually.

bc my life is fucking garbage user

>also it's dead, i doubt it has seen any real dev for some time and will most likely remain that way
it's just stable, like XFCE.

maybe but one is still being worked on

Window Maker || FVWM > Normiebox
