Are none of you smart enough to fix this?

>not just dragging and dropping from the file manager
Can't you just write your own file picker?
Having a feels man folder is all I need to know that I should ignore everything you have to say. kthnxbai.
I would seriously consider fixing this if gtk weren't an OOP library written in plain C.
Are you fucking stupid dude?
Why should I have to have my file manager constantly open?
KDE Plasma 5.15 does not have this issue.
Your fanboy is showing.
That's about 1000x more clicking, user.
Vala
what's wrong with that?
>Why should I have to have my file manager constantly open?
idiot
I accept your surrender.
no one uses that to FIND images
it is good if you know the name, it's comfy
AND you can drop into it
go fuck yourself
After I'm done with your mum
lets see
>have image in familiar layout in fm = find it easy = click less
>have image in unfamiliar layout in tiny window browser = find it difficult = click a lot
idiot
we all know you'll never be not virgin
*mom
>shortcut to relevant folders in ranger or similar file manager
>shortcut to copy filepath of the file you want to upload
>paste into file picker dialog
fastest and simplest file-picker
>lets see
>>have image in familiar layout in fm = find it easy = click less
>>have image in unfamiliar layout in tiny window browser = find it difficult = click a lot
>idiot
Holy shit you're either fucking stupid or trolling.
Probably both.
I was smart enough to install KDE!
Not me, I'm posting from my phone.
>idiot
Holy shit you're either fucking stupid or trolling.
Probably both.
im surprised you managed to post that in between krashes
it's obvious you're retarded
Monkey-see monkey-fucking-do dumbass.
If you think you're clever then you're dumber than I initially thought.
inb4 your stupid ass copies this because you're too retarded to come up with your own response
WHAT'S YOUR ARGUMENT RETARD
DO YOU HAVE ANY
MY ARGUMENT IS THAT YOU'RE A STUPID FUCKER
anyone who isn't a DUMB FUCKER would know that the solution is to have icon-view for uploading images instead of list-view. Windows does this, but apparently KDE is the only DE to do it too.
Now fuck off
>the solution is to have icon-view for uploading images
YOU DON'T HAVE AN ARGUMENT YOU STUPID FUCKER
Windows is garbage and it's upload window is ANAL and i already TOLD you why but you're too much of an idiot to understand you stupid fuck Now fuck off
Just kill yourself.
one other pro for using a fm to dnd is that thunar doesn't load all the images in a folder, only those you see which won't be the case if you used an upload window
i agree, do it, i bet you live in the land of the free too so you're free to do so and you probably can a find a gun for free too
Not him, but I think you legitimately have difficulty comprehending the English language.
I recommend taking a remedial English course at your local community college.
if windows was an example for anything it wouldn't be coping shit on github left and right
fuck you fucktard, i won't use punctuation if i don't want to
and you fuckers don't speak english either
mutts
Punctuation has nothing to do with it. Thanks for proving my point.
i don't have difficulty comprehending the English language fuck face, you proved nothing, adhominem is not a point
Okay mr. smart man
>mfw everyone uploading images to this board is using the same retarded-ass list dialog
No, only retards like you.
achtjually the guy who patched the gtk2 filepicker used to hang out here
>kde
die
DEs are total bloat. Do you really need all of that just to look through files?
I posted GTK too, retard.
nani how did you get the gtk filepicker to look like that
>I'm going to lock myself down to a single brand of desktop theme just so I can find my files
DE posters are as bad as winfags.
DEs aren't "desktop themes"
lmfao why won't they merge this? gnu assholes
Yes they are.
To quickly manage files.
Then that must be the only issue plasma doesn't have. Based sage
Because they're so far up their own ass that they positively refuse to ever address this fucking issue. It would hurt their ego too much. They claim the community surrounding the issue is too "toxic". The reality is, there have been MANY attempts to patch an icon view into the GTK file dialog, and they have all been shot down.
i tried the gtk one some years ago, it wasn't better than dnd
>gnu
gnome
they still haven't fixed the right click menu border in their own gtk2 adwaita, for years, a simple line border in a theme
>They claim the community surrounding the issue is too "toxic"
You're shitting me.
>saging a thread
what else would you sage?
>he has a Wojak folder
wonder why the gimp devs haven't sperged over this
Do you want to know the worst part? They are genuinely considering making the filechooser even more featureless, and continue to question whether an icon view is "necessary".
gitlab.gnome.org
wiki.gnome.org
The absolute state of loonix
retarded boatfucker
This. Nothing lets me find an image easier than Hydrus and with 4chanX I can drag&drop it anywhere on the site.
>s.jpg
this has to be bait
>he uses linux but he can't make his filepicker work exactly the way he wants
125px is enough for everybody
but apparently KDE is the only DE to do it too.
LXQt has an icon view as well. It's just GTKucks that don't.
Read your own links, dumbass
You mean first link where they call the barebones shitty GTK filechooser a
>overblown and complex file selection implementation
and explicitly talk about simplifying it even further:
>we should consider the idea of going back to a simpler user interaction model
And the second link where they ask:
>Should we support both list and icon view?
Yes, I read them all right, fuckhead.
It's not 2014. anymore. Nice meme reply.
>LXQt has an icon view as well.
no
Maybe I'll just write one from scratch.
I normally use drag n drop, and when that fails, the KDE file picker
Don't make me install LXQt just to prove your stupid ass wrong.
do it
nigger
that's kdialog nigger
It's not. Compare it to the right one in that's kdialog.
so that's only for their image viewer
How much work would it take to make your own file picker? A week?
>post using the file picker
>now save a picture in another folder
>want to post a pic again
>file picker is now where you last saved the image
>have to go back where you last were
drag and drop master race doesn't have this inconsistent issue
Any Qt program should be able to use it. With xdg-portal being a thing now hopefully more programs will make it possible to use native file pickers in the future.
Windows 10 doesn't have this problem.
>xdg-portal
doesn't werk in i3
file manager dnd > file picker, FACT
Why the fuck are file pickers such a mess anyways? It should just be a simple program that returns the file path as a string.
Linux is s kernel, dipshit.
Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS do not have this problem.
Consider using a desktop-oriented OS on your desktop and keeping Linux for servers and embedded devices, where it belongs.
>I'm posting from my phone.
kys
>uploading images
>not just drawing them in tegaki
This doesn't matter to me because I deleted my memes folder long ago.
Reminder that posting image macros outside /b/ is technically against the rules.
>Are none of you smart enough to fix this?
Yes, Ahodesuka is
aur.archlinux.org
aur.archlinux.org
>overblown and complex file selection implementation

Look up rube goldberg machine you idiot
The "bug" is almost 15 years old:
gitlab.gnome.org
I think gnome devs might actually be retarded.
Nautilus is total shit for selecting files too. If I go to my meme folder with 2000+ pics I have to wait literally 20 seconds before I can see any of my files. It's so fucking slow compared to other file managers like thunar. WHY THE FUCK IS THE WINDOW COMPLETELY FUCKING BLANK WHILE LOADING FILES? NO OTHER FILE MANAGER DOES THIS. Every other file manager when opening large folders, the folder populates gradually (so you can actually click on and open recent files before it's fully loaded) and you can see the scroll bar changing size as the folder gets larger, but with nautilus you have to wait looking at a blank screen while it loads.
i like de's because i dont have to read the manual every single time i want to do something new.
>linux desktop
>drag and drop
>working
No :P
