The trackpad is better and I'm on the move a lot so I'm not taking a mouse with me. The screen is also much higher quality than comparable Windows laptops.
The CPU is admittedly scam-tier but when you really consider the trackpad, 4usb-c ports, screen quality, battery life, and*nix build tools, no ads in my start menu, and a real package manager (brew) it's really just a convenience choice that I consider worth the expenditure.

I'mma add something to that:
I used to program on a thinkpad x250 which came with window 8.1 installed on it that I later upgraded to windows 10. No matter what setting I chose, the fans would always go mad because windows decided it needed to index my files all the time at a 100% cpu. So I installed openPEPE on it which objectively was the better OS for the hardware. However, lack of certain tools I need to cooperate with teams I work with (namely adobe graphics suites as well as adobe xd) limited my workflow to just code on the move and do graphics on my home pc.
Three years later I got sick of this and bought a 2018 13" mbp with standard cpu. Machine stays quiet and I have access to all tools I need to do my entire work even when I'm moving so that's a neat thing.
Would I recommend people to buy an overpriced machine just for hobby purposes? No. Apple hardware is way too expensive for what it does. But if you need it to work to pay your bills, it's worth it and no meme post on a mongolian basket weaving website can convince me otherwise.

Just Apple Music because it's the only one that lets me upload my own shit and has a student discount in Australia

Can you still write any coding language on a Mac or is it strictly Objective C and Swift? I plan on coding Android and Java based applications so I don't know if a Mac would be more useful than a PC for that.

Macs are the only computers capable of coding in all languages actually. Most thinkpads can only process certain types like python or Haskell, but Macs do them all which is why they’re so popular with google employees and other people who code for a living.
