Nah, tech just hit a slump, we will probably see a bump in interest with gen2 VR tech, then AR will probably become the next thing after once hololens level tech is ready for a conzumer level launch. After that we will probably see a big push from VR to catch up with more projects aiming for the holy grail of "full immersion" and that is probably when we will really see the tech take off. Gen1 VR tech is very much a prototype imo, and anyone that expected it to actually explode into an immediate revolution is an idiot. That doesn't mean it isn't coming though. After all, technology improves exponentially, not linearly, and it is good to remember that. People over estimate immediate progress in the short term and underestimate progress in the long term.
