Google doctors search results

youtube.com/watch?v=SrsCEbi5N7Y

So I watched this video and learned that Google delivers biased search results not based on necessarily relevance, but on how to get the most ads clicked on. Google promotes its services over others and mainly feeds you the results it thinks will match their profile. It tracks your searches, credit card spending, etc.

I never knew any of this until now. From now on I'll use duckduckgo or startpage

Is there anything else like this going on int he internet on a large scale? What measures should I take to get the most uncensored internet experience I can get my hands on?

duckduckgo is probably better for privacy but I have noticed it's still not as "good" at getting the results I want. I'll check out the video but google seems to get me the answers I want slightly better but maybe that's because duckduckgo is a relatively newer service.

Abandon javascript. Seriously, just say no to the cancer. Use other applications for email etc.

Startpage is just Google. Duckduckgo or another search engine is the way to go.

I noticed Google censoring things when I couldn't find infinitychan when searching for it. Also search European people history into Google images for keks.

That happened ages ago. I think they decided not to pay google to list it or something from memory.

Take this how you want.

Dropped

It's been totally the opposite for me. duckduckgo has been better at finding me weird shit, it's all the trivial shit that it seems to be bad at.

This pretty much

I'm using bing more and more. The quality of google results is rapidly deteriorating.

>Use Google until 2009
>Go to Bing around 2013 with some random shit in between
>Got $300 in free stuff (Bing reward things) because I'm online 18hr a day searching for porn on Win7.
>Move to Linux.
>Still use bing to search for cli stuff, package details general Linux shenanigans, and porn.
>Still get free stuff using M$'s engine while primarily searching for obscure linux "trivia."

>huehuehue

>Weinberg
I had no idea

pretty much this,
it offers less results and more pg13 bullshit for you to buy

KEK. This is google trolling at its finest. Cry some more 58.3% tears for us.

DDG gets some results from Bing, so no surprises here.

Twitter censors results via their "quality filter", i.e. if you say something against a certain political leaning your Tweets get de-ranked and don't show up in search results (QFD ban), Facebook de-boosts your posts based on political leaning and what pages you liked and bans you if you were just "associated" with any controversial person, YouTube de-ranks videos about certain movies and abortion topics, Wikipedia moderators edit and misuse politicians sites (just click on the "talk" page on any political wiki site to get some fine autism) and Google even changes dictionary definitions (i.e. search for "nationalism" and compare the dictionary definition of DDG with Google), Rotten Tomatoes "fixes" bad ratings in order to protect movies - are you new to the internet or something?

Is this suggesting ixquick isnt good too?

I don't understand how this somehow comes as a shock to you.

And this is a good thing.

Holy fuck...a mild element of self awareness!

When you have a system designed to be intelligent and find patterns in reality, and then you modify it to explicitly hide or change something giving it a constant hallucination, it highlights that very hallucination, and while the original truth that should be seen isnt there, in the systems attempts to resolve the hallucination it ends up looking at itself.

So when European history search on Google images is censored, naturally the google-images-people system begins to see the error and replaces the censorship with images of the censorship.

Maybe very few realize what this really means, but its quite terrifying. This is the primordial soup. Amino acids have been forming.

Cute

Looks like they're all indexing the same two sites. Pinterest/Ecosia. Never seen Ecosia before but Pinterest has abused google search results for years now. Don't think it's intentional by any of the search engines.

So the answer is, dont search controversial shit because the internet is going to index it as the controversy and not as and unrelated term?
