Yes, but is has superior alternatives.
If you want optimal video quality there are better options but it's the best option that just werks
Not at all. Kakao player is much better
Does everything I want it to do.
Yes.
It's going to integrate mpv soon enough
casual here, can confirm.
>Kakao player
Its convenient in that it plays a vast array of codecs and file formats.
Its not really all that great for video playback though, in terms of lossless quality and such. I still use it to watch movies but I'm intimately aware of the types of visual artifacts VLC can/will show during playback.
mpv is better, but VLC is the second best video player out there and the most popular one.
don't listen to edgy fags. yes is the best at what it does + more. go to ninite click vlc and install it.
It's the best player on mobile.
is it a statement or a question
it's simple and works good, no need to listen to the gentoo neckbeards larping here
MPC > anything else

It's so-so
Qq player Chinese botnet is alot better than this open source software
mpv also "just works" out of the box
>codec packs in year of the lord 2019
>vlc.webm
Everytime I try to play a .ts file with it I see some horizontal lines and it plays at 30fps (video is 60fps), meanwhile Windows Media Player plays them flawlessly. Is it because VLC is not recognizing a codec or something?
Is it good to capture mini dv with vlc?
try mpc-hc?
chink confirmed
>is VLC good software?
Learn some grammar, faggot
How hard would it be for them to make thumbnail scrubbing... like web video players.
install mpc/mpv
Horizontal lines? You need to enable deinterlacing.
On their APP, they FINALLY added support for SMB 2 so you can finally stream vids from your PC without enabling old ass SMB1
What's wrong?
El perro caca jajajaja
is that the company that made "bootleg" N64's?
Lol remember back in the day where Jow Forums and /a/ would throw fits about vlc and why arent you using mvp classic with cccp etc etc, and have epic arguments about encoding formats
its great specially on mobile.
No shitty adds and a fucking gui made for human beans.
you are just fine with it on desktop too.
mpv actually has a few user scripts for this.
It's pretty pointless on local files though because you can seek to any point in the video almost instantly.
had this happening in vlc and recorded it with gifcam a couple days ago
the prepackaged codecs are cool
Kinda, switched over from mpv.
It's ok client for VideoLan, but not for general video playback.
