1660 nvidia gtx

Is this the way to go for 60fps/1080p or will not last long enough to justify not getting a ti or some 1070?
And no I don't give a fuck if its better or worse than some amd shit or if its power efficient, I want to use it not look at benchmarks

Funny how you dismiss amd despite Navi blowing this trash out of the water.

30 fps is plenty.

>1080p
>6 GB
*Yawns*
Even console peasants play on 4K.
Get on with times, grandpa. You have money, right?

this

the human eye can only perceive 30 fps anyway

Yes. Dismiss AMD alternatives that do just as good at 50% the price, because reasons. No, I don't even own an AMD card. I have a 1060 6 GB.

i'm a poorfag and just got an rx 580 2 weeks ago. is this significantly better? dammit

4k fuck up the hud of a lot of old games
It can eat shjt

You don't even know how it does yet you imbecile.

No, that woud be the AMD® Navi Just Wait™.

I got one (8gb) 2nd hand with 2 years more warranty for 130€

this meme again

isn't the 1660 just a 1060 3gb but with 6gb of vram?

>1660 nvidia gtx
> 1080p/60fps
...in what game? You can typically do this with a sub $75 950 or 960.

just get a vega 56 bro

1080p Im pretty sure any modern card will handle it all.

Yes, it's a great 1080p gaming card. It's arguably entry-level 1440p even.

The 2060 is entry-level 1440p. 1660 Ti is really pushing it (and I would really advise OCing it for that purpose). I would not get 1660 for 1440p at all unless all you play are old games.

>only one fan
discard it right now

>1080p
Upgrade your monitor, you drooling retard.

good goy

A 1060 is plenty for 1080p gaming.

>And no I don't give a fuck if its better or worse than some amd shit or if its power efficient, I want to use it not look at benchmarks
1660 is more power efficient, but the 590 beats it in several games and is the same price, and has 2gb more of vram.

It really isnt that much better, but 2 weeks should be within the return policy of anywhere you bought it from. RX580 and RX590 come with games, including a couple good ones like REmake2 and DMC5, 1660 does not. It also is barely 10-15% better than a GTX 1060, which an RX 580 is already like 8-12% better than with current drivers.

not at ultra.
Based double-dubs of truth
I can hit 1440p/60 on several games with rx580, what are you smoking? Not everyone has a 144hz monitor.

Just buy a used 1070 for the same price.

>just buy a 3 year old used card
Retard.

Why's it retarded if it performs the same for a lot less money?

30hz+ sufficiently strong motion blur = 60hz

>a lot less money
That's a strange way to spell more.

>is this significantly better?
Yes

of course op is talking about being able to 60fps nupcoming games not shit is already out since a 1050ti is enough for that

OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>Upgrade your monitor
Sure
Show me a good 4k 144hz IPS monitor that is under 300€

>maybe same price
>GPU can die at any second while new card ensure you 2 years of it working or you get a new one
Never buy used cards or hard drives

Cringe

Zotac has refurb 1080 for 320. Video cards are immortal.

>will not last long enough to justify not getting a ti or some 1070?

I doubt it'll last long enough desu.

Maybe regular usecase ones. Cards raped by mining aren't immortal in the slightest.

Nice id you have there.

Short answer, no.

Long answer: shit ain't meant to last. The drop this stop-gap at a low price with the hopes that they drop something sooner that's more enticing than RTX to make you spend your dollars. 1080p wise, games are becoming more demanding. Don't expect that card to give you 60fps for more than 2 years on new AAA titles. You need a card made to deliver strong on 1440p. That way 1080p wise you'll be future proof for many years.

Yeah if all you play is league of legends or side scrollers.

Wrong.

You are retarded. Mining cards are undervolted and handled with more care than a gaming card from someone who had it run at 99% while gaming

electricity in germany is heavily taxed

~30 euro cents per kWh .

it'd be foolish to buy an AMD card here.

>The 2060 is entry-level

You can be somewhat confident that a game can run 60 fps without too many dips at 1440p on 2060.

Funny how he just dimissed something that doesnt exist on the market

It's a slightly worse 1070
Some plebs will tell you it will scale better with new games but that's speculation at best

When's some new 1440p card coming up? I got 60hz only, but I don't want to get 2060 AND I might buy second 144hz monitor soon.

Amd will shit out some 7nm 1440p card in about half a year.
Will be about 10% better price performance than nvidias offering.

What about gtx 1180? Is that actually a thing or a made up card

Well nvidia can always make a version of their 2060/2070 cards without rtx and sell it for cheaper.
They're rumored to come out in 6 months or so.

The 1660ti will be the new 1050ti, mark my words.

Depending on your perspective that'll either make you love it or hate it.

Seems unlikely at this point. There's not much wiggle room performance wise for any cards between the 2060 and 2070. There's more room between the 2070 and 2080 for an 1180 I guess that's 10-15% slower than the 2080 and costs less.

There's no way Nvidia is selling you something the same performance as a 2080 with no RT for simply less money though.

>isn't the 1660 just a 1060 3gb but with 6gb of vram?
No, you're thinking of the 1060 with 6GB of vram, lol

The 1660 is a step below the 1070 from what I've seen, and 15-20% faster than the 1060 GB depending on the game
