I thought it was ded

it's just a fork

>using mpc-hc while mpc-be exist
Lmao

> mpv
> relevant
things that never happened.

Still nothing to rival mvp in the updates.

the only reason i use BE over HC is cuz of the dark theme

will i get to be no. quadruple 8?

based

no

I'll use mpv when it gets a settings GUI and sensible defaults.

In other words I will not ever use mpv.

word

can MPC-HC play av1?

good, anyone too lazy to use a config file to change their settings shouldn't be allowed to use the best media player out there.

yes

Source?

I know with K-Lite and MPC-HC you can, but by default I was unaware AV1 support had been added to MPC-HC.

then i'll stick to MPV.

i have a portable config in MPV. no need to config mpv forever.

mpc-qt

MPC-HC is good as long as you dont install any 3rd party codec stuff.

3rd party codec stuff is the only way MPC-HC has stayed alive despite the lack of development since 2017.

i can change the config files, but i want a gui to seek and change volume.. the osd, especially appearing ON TOP of a video, is retarded

i dont install any 3rd party software in my computer.

thats why i use MPV.

no need for external codecs.

I like mpv because it just werks and the defaults are nothing really worth complaining about.

I also like the icon/logo for mpv much better, whereas the icon/logo for this software looks like clipart you'd see for a flier advertising movie night at a group home for the mentally impaired.

what features does MPC-HC have? can I create sequential playlists so I can binge my hentai?

That's fine, MPV is good.

Claiming MPC-HC is good WITHOUT 3rd party codecs is retarded though.

>but i want a gui to seek
MPV has that
>change volume
use windows volume, assuming you aren't retarded your keyboard should have dedicated volume keys or you should have set up a custom keybind to do the same.

ffplay is the only media player you wwill ever need

it needs to play all video files out of the box.

one must not install any codec pack.

>one must not install any codec pack.
what the fuck are you talking about?

You're the one claiming MPC-HC is good without them (it isn't).

Stop being a fucking retard.

>I know with K-Lite and MPC-HC you can, but by default I was unaware AV1 support had been added to MPC-HC.
Latest LAV filters. Look at the changelog.

You don't need 3rd party codecs with MPC-HC....it just works.

>Claiming MPC-HC is good WITHOUT 3rd party codecs is retarded though.
You don't need 3rd party codecs at all you fucking moron. Nobody installs them except dumb weebs like you who don't know that MPC-HC hasn't needed other codecs for years.

>Latest LAV filters
Yea, the latest LAV filters in the official MPC-HC is 0.70.2

Who the fuck is this guy and why should I trust HIS version of MPC-HC?

MPC-HC is good. i was using it before i switched to MPV.

would use if again if madvr and reclock has 64 bit versions.

but then again i would be installing too many 3rd party stuffs.

Do you people not know that MPC-HC doesn't actually need codec packs?

This has been the case since -HC. Only MPC needed codec packs.

Yeah because it hasn't been in development for years, whereas K-Lite and others get updated every few weeks or months.

"official" version has been discontinued for two years now. The fork by clsid2 is the current version.

MPV has video-sync-display-resample

how do i do that with MPC-HC?

>>Yea, the latest LAV filters in the official MPC-HC is 0.70.2
>
>Who the fuck is this guy and why should I trust HIS version of MPC-HC?
He's one of the MPC-HC devs you uninformed idiot. He took it upon himself to continue the project.

forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=175209

The built in sync renderer

disgusting

I only use media players that do all their own internal development.

It's why Windows media player is my go to.

Attached: 2019-03-17 09_26_51.png (707x1139, 73K)

If I pause and then after 20min my HDD goes to sleep then I hit play and goes straight to the end.
How do I fix that?

Also you can change the volume with your mouse wheel as long as your cursor hovers over the volume icon.

It's certainly distraction free.

You can't. Only if you install Reclock.

>so what is mpv is shit? just use this stupid hack workaround lmao
god freetards need to be put into ovens pronto

Attached: 1357638362017.png (355x362, 255K)

Turn off your HDD hibernation option in the power settings.

>using windows for volume control is a "stupid hack workaround"

Wow, THIS is education system my taxes are paying for? Jesus.

stupid cartel shilling their windows buttcoin mining shitware tightwadding riced media player

What's the difference? Legit curious.
I already use it anyway because of the dark theme, just like .

>mpc-qt
>It actually exists.
github.com/cmdrkotori/mpc-qt

Using system wide volume change is stupid if I only want to change the volume on a certain video. And using the mixer is annoying.

Lastly, the OSD is ANNOYING and should not be appearing over a video and should be visible at all times.

Yeah, its great. Thats why I'm shilling it

>should be visible at all times.
Lmao, it's not 1990 anymore kiddo. Learn the fucking program or use something else. Just because you're lazy or unwilling to learn it doesn't make it inferior. It makes YOU inferior.

No this is actually how media have and should always work. MPV literally does what PHONE applications do.

Attached: gfdsdfs.png (1234x423, 156K)

>the OSD is ANNOYING and should not be appearing over a video and should be visible at all times.
That's a mighty retarded opinion you've got there, senpai.
mpv has a volume "slider" too if you've only got one hand for some reason, and you can bind any number of buttons even on the mouse to change the volume as well. Is everyone using laptops?

It's off.

Nothing should be covering any part of a video you are watching at any time, it's really annoying.

My ideal UI is pic related.

Anyhow MPV is basically abandonware at this point. Their devs are also retarded that think settings xy coordinates should start from a corner of a video rather than the middle.

Attached: dfgfdd.png (1306x770, 737K)

Then your HDD shouldn't be going to sleep.

Attached: file.png (418x449, 16K)

Attached: 222.png (193x75, 2K)

He probably means head parking, you need to flash the firmware of your drive to change that

>xy coordinates should start from a corner of a video rather than the middle.
start from corner is standard programming practice for software

>ideal UI is pic related
you can do that in mpv

That doesn't make sense because the only way MPC-HC rivals mpv configured for high quality is with all kinds of 3rd party addons. Default install with default settings results in the same quality though.

Oh cool. Where can I get the linux version?

>Windows media player is my go to
and you can't enjoy superior AV1, H265 and H264 on Windows (at least in Windows 7)

Both are based on same decoders, same splitters and nearly same renderer...

>can't play bluray
>tfw can't find good, free BR player
ytho

I’ll stick with VLC, thanks.

Attached: image.jpg (680x794, 109K)

You can in windows 10

Vlc with the aacs key works just fine for me

MKV and ass subtitles are supported maybe too?
it will be nice improvement

MKV is supported on Windows 10 since 1809.
ass isn't and probably won't because nobody uses it except the anime cartel, everyone else uses WebVTT.

>this manga
absolute comfy

>windows
lmao

I had a look into it and I had to jump through a few hoops but this worked:

Cheers for the starter for 10 though user.

This but I'm a normiem fuck mvp

>loonix

I'm not installing Windows for this

That's what (((they))) want you to believe.

>you can do that in mpv

How? probably doesn't work on Windows though.

just use a fucking gui frontend for mpv like smplayer, you retarded motherfucker

stop taking the b8

wtf i hate mpv now
oh wait

>2019
>using the obsolete directshow framework
Literally all your filters are just direct ports from ffmpeg and libass, which are directly linked to mpv. Everything good about MPC-HC comes from open source projects that were never designed to be used with directshow.

MPC-HC is free software too you nigger

d-doesn't count

Attached: peepo seizure.jpg (251x201, 8K)

I don't want to read pages of documentation just to change a simple feature.

does BD-J ever worked with it?

After using potplayer for my animes for years i moved into MPV few months ago and wrote my config and downloaded few plugins and it's far better for anime, i would still prefer potplayer for general shit like tv shows or movies inb4 gook botnet shill yadada

BD-J probably COULD work with it, but generally it would depend exactly what the BD-J is for.

is it impossible to have madVR on mpv?

it's the only reason I wanna switch to MPC-HC, is it difficult to recreate such filters on mpv?

Attached: man-thinking-hard.jpg (700x510, 32K)

Almost all BDs use BD-J for menus, or interactive features.
Pixar movies made other interesting uses too.

mpv has scalers that outperform madvr in certain areas

artoriuz.github.io/mpv_upscaling.html

Yeah exactly, but there are also BD-Js that are internal use for companies and shit that wouldn't work at all without the proper software.
