thinking about installing it on a fresh install just to monitor traffic and what it does
Owen Barnes
install it in a virtual machine and find out
Joshua Hill
why is there a white male in this image?
Luke Howard
>install it in a virtual machine and find out thinking about it, I just thought someone here would know what their game is
best way to run a hackintosh on a VM?
Blake Gomez
Did you not browse the internet back in the days when security was godawful and catching viruses was actually quite common (especially when watching porn)?
I imagine they do the same thing now as they did back then. Throw more ads in your face, random pop up advertisements (even if you're disconnected from the internet), software that scans your "friends lists" and spams them with stuff from your account. Also probably keyloggers which they can automatically scan for certain keywords to see when you start logging into certain known sites so they can hijack your account. Another possibility is root kits that add your machine to someones botnet, so your precious CPU cycles will be spent farming bitcoins, solving captchas for them, or participating in DDOS attacks.
Anthony Thompson
>not using the latest CIA tools to unfuck the fuckery
Oliver Roberts
You can't even get popunders with chrome anymore
Carson Cox
>popunders Is that like a pop up but targeted at aussis because they're the worst shitposters and multikill faggots, maybe ever?
Joshua Ortiz
Stop watching gay porn faggot Problem solved
Chase Morris
>I imagine they do the same thing now as they did back then. your imagination is cool and all, but I am wondering what they actually do in detail
also i think you mean "malware" and not "virus"
Ayden Ortiz
>You can't even get popunders with chrome anymore yes you can
Parker Lewis
Worked for Apple before, that's just a pop-up telling you to install garbage. It'll most likely be a program that pretends as a security software that monitors your keystrokes, finds out what website you use and access cookies. If I recall correctly most OSX Malwsre or Viruses can't fuck with your Mac that much but they get access a lot of information.
But once again, Apple BTFO.
Ryan Lee
>But once again, Apple BTFO. Yeah someone willingly installing a program on their computer and giving it access to their information via putting in the admin password and letting it set up network connections with servers could never happen with any other operating system
Jace Kelly
Of course not.
Angel Stewart
>Yeah someone willingly installing a program on their computer and giving it access to their information via putting in the admin password and letting it set up network connections with servers could never happen with any other operating system this
Owen Murphy
I was browsing cyanide and happiness comics like 10-12 years ago and one of the ads they hosted was injecting computers with ransomware lol
was apparently a big known issue
Justin White
samefag
Aiden Butler
>I was browsing cyanide and happiness comics like 10-12 years ago and one of the ads they hosted was injecting computers with ransomware lol wtf
Benjamin Reed
>samefag no
Brayden Scott
is virus probs
Hunter Hughes
download it on a VM if you really want to see what it does. If it's just Mac cleaner then its not even worth playing with, its just there to fuck shit up
Parker Rodriguez
you can't run OS X in a vm
Noah Bailey
not true
Ian Campbell
>not true yes it is, you have to run it on apple hardware
Ayden Cook
>it's true, it's false officially, you must run it on apple hardware, unofficially, there are ways to make it work on other hardware either way, you can run osx in a vm since op probably has a mac, he doesn't even need to go out of his way to do so
Anthony Scott
>unofficially you mean by breaking the law
John Price
I ran 10.6.8 in virtualbox. Didnt get GPU working so I was limited to 1024x768 but everything else was fine. Use iboot for ivy bridge to start up. Although you may first want to monitor its traffic without the porn adprogram, to make sure your iboot or pirated OS were not already phoning home.
Adrian Hughes
>best way to run a hackintosh on a VM? Easiest way is QEMU hosted on Ubuntu/Mint. Use AQEMU as a graphical front-end to configure VMs. There's also VMware which costs money. VirtualBox is a bitch to use with MacOS.
Anthony Cook
Apple is not the government. You can disobey them and they can't send you to jail.
Jaxon Green
>I ran 10.6.8 in virtualbox. illegally
Parker Reyes
>Apple is not the government. You can disobey them and they can't send you to jail. The government grants them copyright, by disobeying the rules protecting that copyright you are breaking the law and can be charged with a crime
Nolan Cooper
SIR STOP USING THAT HARDWARE YOU'RE BREAKING THE LAW
YOU CAN'T USE PLIERS TO HAMMER IN NAILS IT'S NOT WHAT THE PLIERS DESIGNER WANTED
Evan White
>he actually bough apple hardware to run macOS seethe
I do have legitimate copies of macos. If you are using a pirated one you can account for it in your experiment. What apple can't do is tell me what software I am allowed to run on which of my computers. That is beyond the scope of copyright law. Not that I particularly care if it's legal. It's not like anyone is harmed by me trying to netboot 1990s Mac's from a server in a vm.
Julian Gutierrez
God forbid
Adrian Moore
>It's not like anyone is harmed by me trying to netboot 1990s Mac's from a server in a vm. apple is harmed by you making use of their intellectual property without paying
if everyone did that they would go out of business
Bentley Wood
I already paid for this hardware and operating system over 10 years ago. Should I pay them again somehow? I dont think newer versions even support netboot for classic macos.
Adam Hughes
>I already paid for this hardware and operating system over 10 years ago. Should I pay them again somehow? not if the hardware is not working and still in your possession, but you did not specify that before
Brody Flores
Just install it, it probably cleans your mac. Can't be a virus, Macs don't have viruses.
Henry Peterson
God damn what a boot licker you are. your computers are your property. Not apples.
Carson James
Mac os by default doesn't allow unsigned apps to run anymore, so it would be almost impossible for the average person to actually install this.
James Foster
>Mac os by default doesn't allow unsigned apps to run anymore wat
Jeremiah Miller
>God damn what a boot licker you are. your computers are your property. Not apples. I guess the books i buy and the movies i buy are my property too, as well as the coke cans I buy, I am free to copy and use the logo on that coke can however I see fit forever right? Make copies and do whatever I feel like with them right?
Liam Flores
>offers you to clean up your Mac >HURR WHAT COULD IT POSSIBLY DO??
Aiden Robinson
did you know all those internet ads are scams for install malicious apps? i see that ad in non-adult sites (Jow Forums Jow Forums, Forbes, Resetera)
yeah, Mojave block external installers by default and only allow Mac Store Apps.
Ryder Morris
Do you feel it would be wrong to scan a coke can or movie cover that you bought in order to make a poster for only your own use in your own home? Would you feel morally obligated to buy an official one instead?
Nathan Flores
>Do you feel it would be wrong to scan a coke can or movie cover that you bought in order to make a poster for only your own use in your own home? Would you feel morally obligated to buy an official one instead? Legally obligated user. You bought a dvd and then tried to turn the it into a poster that is worth many times more. If everyone did this then there would be no ability for anyone to make money off posters.
you can't just buy one tiny piece of copyright material and use it forever to turn it into high value materials as you see fit, legally
Zachary King
you have to allow unsigned apps in the settings, and it still gives you a warning
Angel Powell
OS warns you that you're about to run potentially dangerous software for the first time, what's the problem?
Julian Bennett
user, sometimes the law is fucking dumb and it's okay to ignore it
Isaiah Hernandez
I don't know what country he's from but it is not illegal to use such materials for private use in the us. Copyright laws are concerned with distribution, not the creation of a derivative. Also it's not like following these laws is always a good thing. Not even corporations have the right to own a copyright forever, although they keep lobbying to extend the limit. The government recognizes that knowledge and culture belong to everyone, with copyright supposed to protect innovation by guaranteeing authors and inventors the revenue from their creations for a few years or decades. But the period has been inflated to so long now that the laws stifle innovation instead.
Nathaniel Hall
Agreed
Lucas Jackson
I like that feature actually, but I wish you could easily turn it off
>I like that feature actually, but I wish you could easily turn it off in what way is it hard to turn off?
Camden Price
what is wrong with tube site porn user?
Chase Powell
it means u got aids, fag
Parker Morris
Hope you go around paying every company whose logo you've ever taken a picture of as well as art or other pictures or video frames since you're making an unauthorized copy and depriving them of revenue, criminal scum
Austin Phillips
>Hope you go around paying every company whose logo you've ever taken a picture of as well as art or other pictures or video frames since you're making an unauthorized copy and depriving them of revenue, criminal scum yeah that's the same thing
