Ccleaner

What do you think about this piece of software?.
Is there a reliable open source alternative?

Using it since 2010 and it still works flawlessly, I'm on Win7.

you have yo be pretty retarded to actually use this crap

A good alternative is to manage what you put on your pc as you go. I wouldn't trust CCleaner, it looks to be in the same tier as that mac cleaner that needed up being malware

What do you use to clean your system?

Well, if you are running a libre OS on your desktop, as you should, it is simply irrelevant.

BleachBit is a good multi-platform libre alternative.

I'm sure your windows install is very healthy user.

Do you periodically remove temporary files?. That sounds tedious

Who fucking cares. You dumbasses do more harm than good fucking with the registry

>what is Disk Cleanup

malware

Literal malware

What about the registry?

What about it? don't install a bunch of garbage and it'll be just fine

But if you'd have to clean it up, How'd you go about it?

Not as far as I know.

BUT if you're using open source (and maybe sandbox your Linux or BSD software on top of that), you don't even need this.

(cont'd)
Even on Windows: If you're not using additional proprietary garbage, your cleanup needs will be very limited.

It's only really terrible if you use proprietary garbage software on a proprietary garbage OS. That is what litters all over the fucking place. Just don't. Or only do it on your secondary "console" machine that you can wipe as needed.

fresh OS install, unironically

this
lol what. Just no.

anyone that uses it uses it because a geek squad employee put it on there
