Glad to see NVIDIA's patented self-baking technology is still at work.

perish

I didn't sell it for an RX 580 - I'd had that sitting around as a backup card for almost a year anyway. And I only play WoW and a few other things, so my 1080 Ti was wasted. Might as well cash in now while prices are high. I got back most of what I paid for it after more than 18 months of use.

I do have to say, the rtx2060 is tempting me.

Maybe if it comes on a sweet sale...

Gtx 690 still hanging in there fine. Thinking about getting better mobo and trying for a 5ghz cpu clock for the fun of it.

Never obsolete: the config

A non-K 2600 with 8GB 1333MHz RAM is utterly obsolete.

Go back to /v/ you gaymen trash

Agreed.
Makes me think though. Why is a processor from 2011 still way more than enough now, but you couldn't run Vista (2006) on a Pentium 2 (1998)?

Speccy is such a shitty software.

Technology improved at a faster rate then compared to now.

Oc the 1660

I have a 1060.. and overclocking these cards are more or less useless, you can't increase the voltage worth a shit, and everything is throttled by power consumption.
I have watercooling and even with load temps in the 50's celcius it just taps out and crashes at a certain frequency, while 1mhz below, its fully stable. I suspect they cucked the cards via bios or something.

Well then
I'd need the power of an gtx 1080ti but im too broke

pour vegetable oil in sockets

From what I heard you can get a 150Mhz oc p easily with no voltage
Which hits roughly 1660ti performance. That is the stock evga mini version for $220 US
I have a 1060 as well and i think the 15-20% performance increase would hit the sweet spot for me

its not the best but gets the job done.

It hasn't had a REAL update in well over four years. It still can't detect DDR4 ffs. That launched on the desktop with Haswell-E in 2014.

>high end PC build at 12
That's badass user. I didn't make ny 8350 until I was 22 in 2017 as a budget ultimate year 2012 build.

I fear the flames.

When I switched from 4 to 8 RAM sticks, I had to fuck up my RAM timings for it to boot. The TV that I have plugged in seems to be buggy, too. It's a 4k TV (the Samsung one), and my 3 ASUS screens.

Speccy finally figures out how to report my RAM properly and now its showing my CPU 50 degrees hotter than it actually is.

>100% flash storage X299 rig
That's actually really nice user.

thank you for the nice words
I actually do have another computer at home in the network that has about 40 TB of storage in case I do need mechanical storage, but I love when it's just quiet and there are no noises from HDDs. The only thing that bothers me now is that I'm even bottlenecking the HDDs on that server with the GBit network connection, and it's way too much effort to recable and get new switches now. I'm likely doing something about that when I move.

I worked my dick off repairing computers for boomers all summer to get 950$ and get that mofo together, first time I assembled it the psu blew and started smoking, almost cried right there and was stressed for a week until the replacement arrived that it had damaged the other components but everything was fine later
the amd fans sucked dick and I thought it was supposed to sound like a goddamn helicopter taking off until I replaced stock with noctuas and was blessed with silence
/ssssip/ good times
