They are cheap and good enough for most Spotify/youtube using plebs, unless you plan on becoming an audiophile it's probably sufficient.

How much you willing to spend?

>is pic related the only option?
it is not

Interested in this topic as well. I actually used to have the speakers in the OP. They were excellent, especially considering the price point.

Looking to go a tier or two above though, but I am running into a lot of speakers with a lot of seemingly pointless bells and whistles (blue-tooth, wireless nonsense, etc.). Suggestions?

jbl 306p

Etymōtic Research hf5
>speakers are for niggers

I want deep good nigger bass but not shake the whole house down level
What do I buy

PMC IB2s

I have the OP speakers, they're great for personal use and price is good. Bass sounds great unlike other logitech speakers before it

Genelec 8020B

tiny nobass made for mobile control room setups
get 8040 at least

I just want something small and under $100. I'm thinking of going for Bose Companion 2 but I'd like to go smaller. Maybe I should just save up more money but I'm not an audiophile, I just don't want distortion when I'm watching a movie or playing a game with explosions.

30-50k...

there's other good options in that price range

Oh neat, I was actually going to post in the pcbuilding thread for this. I live in burgerland, looking for a decent set of speakers, I'm not an audiophile so don't need anything too crazy, budget is around $150ish. Living in an apartment so I'm not looking for glass shattering volume levels or anything, but definitely not wanting to give up bass.

I see the logitech g650 get thrown around in a lot of articles but FUCK RGB memery. I also see harmon kardon soundsticks posted in a bunch of articles but those things are fucking ugly as sin. Are there any other options out there for that price range?

I'm poor user

I have OP's pic related and they're good enough for consuming multimedia. Unless you have an acoustically treated room, it doesn't matter how expensive your speakers are because your shitty sounding room is just going to make everything sound like shit anyway, and these at least reproduce the entire frequency range that humans can hear, so for most people, investing into something more expensive than these is probably not worth it.

any experience with amazon.com/Genius-SW-G2-1-2000-Channel-Speaker/dp/B076Z89PZD/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=speakers&qid=1553120732&refinements=p_36:1253506011&rnid=386442011&s=electronics&sr=1-13&th=1 ?

100$ during black friday couple years back

the OP has independently adjustable bass, just buy it already. trust me, I like bass and I only have its knob turned up about 1/3 of the way. it can get anywhere between retarded bassy or not at all

Powered monitors like JBL's (don't remember the xact model) will completely blow out of the water any logikek system.

Powered monitor speakers are the best option, speakers marketed for computer use are garbage, speakers produced for studio monitoring in audio production are good and affordable.

You will not go wrong with JBL LSR305s and other powered monitors in that tier.

>speakers produced for studio monitoring in audio production are good and affordable.
Sure, but to get your money's worth out of them, you need a room with good acoustics. Studio headphones are a better choice for high quality audio in a home environment.

>Sure, but to get your money's worth out of them, you need a room with good acoustics
Not really. Sure you'll max out to a level that will only improve with room conditioning, but studio monitors will soar you into that audio heaven realm while compushit speakers have you wallowing in distorted gutters. You can easily do a decent chunk of basic room conditioning, like isolating the speakers from the desk/stand so the desk doesn't become the speaker, removing objects that easily reverberate etc.

>headphones
Depends if you can tolerate headphone fatigue. I prefer cans off my ears and having my head unencumbered.

True, I think I could shake the whole neighbourhood if I turn the knob to the fucking max.

Logitech Z4

The room itself is an object that easily reverberates. Definitely my Logitech Z623s don't have the best quality audio and I can tell that they don't whenever I listen to music on them, but even then I'm already running into the limitations of my room more than the limitations of the speakers.

I have pic related, its really good. Theres a dial on the side that goes to the subwoofer so you can either have destroy your house bass or none at all.
