kek

Run a message board off of it :^)

Install Debian on it and it makes a very comfy home server. Here's my 2006 mac mini.

Attached: comfy.png (1280x800, 61K)

thats actually the most cozy idea

Attached: images(14).jpg (188x268, 6K)

what would you even do with a "home server"?
is that just a fancy way of saying 2nd computer I keep movies and music on?

Attached: MacPro.jpg (2000x2000, 150K)

no wonder anime gif user makes such a retarded reply

Yes, a second computer which is as redundant as possible with RAIDs, ECC, UPS, ready to be powered on 24/7.

It has optical audio in and out, right? (The 3.5mm jacks should be combo ports that can be used with mini-TOSLINK adapters.) If so, use it as a DSP.

Can you explain on what this is user?

What is your main use for your server?

Could you fit a more modern board into it? Something like a MiniSTX board?

>buy electric car
>put ford pinto body kit on it and paint "i smoke cock" in bright rainbow letters on it
Yikes.

the headphone/line out jack has an S/PDIF optical transmitter.

Not apple bad, but it is just trash. It is probably dual core core2, or maybe even core...

>found
How?

Get yourself a PowerPC machine.

Fuck is it a g4? I forget when the cut off is.
If it's a g4 macmini put openbsd on it and use it as a secure keyserver or something.

I have a g4 emac that I put my ssh keys on, so that just in case jamal steals my laptop he doesn't steal my ssh keys, and I can still log into all of my other servers which all have password log ins disabled in sshd.conf

Minecraft, DNS and HTTP at the moment

Additionally, the microphone/line in has an optical receiver. So you can receive digital audio, process it, and pass it along.

Core 2 duo 2.26 Ghz

I second what said then.
You could also run emby too.

I might run emby if I can steam my TV channels to the Mac.

if you trash working electronics you're no better than the consumer drones you're trying to mock

ho-key what the fuck happened to my pee enn Jow Forums

>tfw still have an old G4 sitting around but I'm too retarded to do anything like this with it

Based

Hey hey hey
How does Minecraft run with that CPU and RAM? Also how many players at once can it handle?? Thx

My guess is it won't work well at all because in the game geometry dash it only got around 25 fps on the lowest settings during my testing.

based and redpilled

Preserve it until you can sell it to collectors or something. Enjoy waiting several decades.

Sorry for the late reply
Runs really well because no graphics ale done server side. I'm using a reimplementation of the server written in C++ called cuberite and with 5 or 6 players on it only uses ~300mb RAM and basically no CPU

i put my hands on one of these recently, it's absolutely trash. Nothing is supported, it is super slow and litterally the only thing you can do is writing texts (lightweight documents) or open simple webpages without javascript. Even with that, you'll have to wait. Long time.

give it back jamal

Absolutely and brutally based.

Take a shit in it and resell it to some hipster on craigslist.

Install Debian and use as a seedbox/fap machine/ media centre.

tfw I used to raid 25 man on a 2009 Mac Mini.

Lol

White devics bad

Dump the innards and use the case for some DIY project.

Is there support for forge mods?

Run an imageboard off of it.

Not OP, I have a relative that is old and doesn't understand technology past putting discs on trays and cartridges on consoles.

Is there any sort of DVD player that looks like shit shit? Small, disc sized. I know DVDs have been obsolete for well over a decade, but hey.

>Hey Jow Forums, I found a Mac Mini from 2009,what do I do with it?
would it fit up your arse if you used a little bit of effort?

based

unbased

I months ago saved a core2duo imac from around the same era from recycling, I put xubuntu in it and it's a pretty decent machine.

truth is... you're just a consumer drone with a bad png...
>FalloutNV intro music

Any good media center OS that supports old mac minis?

>Apple products are bad
Well explain this Satania.

I-I-It's not like I needed money or anything, baka!

Stockholm syndrome.

Install MorphOS on it.

fucking kek

So are many of the Thinkpads Jow Forums uses. Core 2 duos are still pretty usable today assuming they're not the very earliest.

>MorphOS
I don't think the '09 Mac Mini was a PPC machine

Core2 duos are slow af, and eat to many shekels from outlet.

I actually use one as a daily driver

install gentoo

OK, man, I have a question. I remember seeing the Macally keyboard a lot back in the day, but why would you choose it over one of the Apple Pro Keyboards of the time?

Attached: ACC-KEYBOARD-PRO-2__30499__71705__36201.1532960362[1].jpg (800x800, 134K)

Or this one, probably my favorite Mac keyboard ever.

Attached: apple-pro-keyboard-black-model-m7803[1].jpg (250x250, 8K)

I used it because it was cheaper than than the apple keyboard. I also like the way it feels better.

These things get real dirty real quick and the keys start to bind like a bitch when they get a bit older.

t. got 3 of the fuckers in the household

What Mac OS X are you running?

Fair enough .The Apple Pro keyboards were a bit squishy, but I really liked the positioning of the F keys on the black one.

Yeah they did get dirty, I had a couple myself. even after I stopped using Mac OS. I would just take off the keys and wash them a couple times per year.

I’m not at the computer right now, but it is some version of lion.

Why do you choose to run lion over El Capitan?

>it's a mactoddler manchild thinks he or his manchild fruit toys belong on Jow Forums episode

Attached: 1541936051520.jpg (996x954, 319K)

I haven't tried it

I didn’t choose, I am running the newest version that my computer can run.

Oh, what generation Mac mini do you have?

see

ah, my bad

see

It’s a mid 2007 with an upgraded 2gigs of ram
