I want something newer. I don't like the way the keyboard comes out. Seems like something that would break. I like how chunky it is though. Modern laptops are all thin and flimsy.

btw it'll be for browsing, and writing.

(Repost from my question from the other day)
Hey guys, it's that one user with the mouse problems where the mouse makes the screen blurry and have the mouse act like it is jittering when moving it, so there is no calm and smooth movement, back after many months. No, sadly, I can't say that my mouse problems have been fixed, but I do have some more information, in case there is anyone who thinks they might be able to help me out!

So, I found out recently that one of my USB ports IS indeed faulty, and will blue screen my PC if it is used, so this leads me to believe that perhaps the mouse was short circuited like the other few. The mouse I am currently using is a $60 or so Logitech G303 mouse. I have played around with the settings for it, angle snapping is off, both for my PC itself and in the mouse driver settings.

I have flashed my bios, given my OS a fresh reinstall, and nothing has seemed to fix my mouse. NOW, I know what sort of motherboard I am using, and it is a asus 970 pro gaming/aura motherboard.

NOW! Here is the strangest part: if I try to emulate the mouse movement, either via Steam Big Picture Mode with controller support, or via xpadder, the problems I have with my mouse are still there. BUT if I just use a controller with a game that has controller support, I have no problem.

If anyone can help me, great. I do eventually just plan on saving $1K or so after a few months of work to build a KICKASS gaming PC, but until then, this is all I have to work with. Thank you for any support!

(And for those saying just change a part, while I would love to, I have so many other problems, along with my GPU only being a GTX 960, so I really would like to upgrade with a new build, but I do appreciate any advice!)

none of the USB speeds come close to what specs say simply because they only talk about speed of transmission itself. in reality there's a bunch of other factors that slow down the total transfer speed

has anyone seen this box of stats before? pressed a random keyboard shortcut and cant get rid of it. doing something right now which means i cant restart.

best books to learn programming from scratch?

I have two folders in an external drive I'm trying to access in Windows 10.

One is called "UNI" and the other "Uni" and of course I can't access the second one.

Is there any application that will recognize them as different folder and let me copy a file I have inside the second one to the desktop?

would the second one show up if you rename the first?

try Ctrl+Shift+O, or go to your Radeon settings and check the key combination bound to "Toggle Performance Overlay Hotkey"

thank you

Let's imagine for an attosecond a store like Steam, but the games have a limited stock.

So if I load onto my cart 5 copies of Underage Panty Quest, but Gabe only has 4 copies, what would be the least retarded way to validate stock?

Because I was thinking of keeping the cart all in the client side with cookies and then once the payment's done you put it on the database, but the stock part NEEDS the database to see if there's enough copies.

If I move the cart to the server side then retards that add and remove items from their carts will fucking bloat the database (or at least the autoincrement ID of the table)

Pls help I'm retarded

nice spacing, retard

Has anyone heard of anything like this? I used to save porn on my phone but now I keep a tablet for it because im a wageslave and my boss needs to check my phone. several random anime porn images I downloaded in 2017-2018 just redownloaded to my phone through google chrome. It says I downloaded them all at once 10 hours ago, when I was asleep, and there is no record of them in the downloads page

Does anyone know what causes this or should i just wipe my phone? I cant have this happen again...

an item only gets removed from stock once it's bought, otherwise what are you gonna do about people putting stuff in carts and never buying it?

you would need an api endpoint which would return the number of items left in stock given the item id
so in this case you would query it with the id 12345 (corresponding to Underage Panty Quest) and the server would respond with "4", so you can show some information to the user on the client side
obviously you can't expect all clients to behave nicely and you should always validate on the server side when placing an order
validate the stock BEFORE the payment

Is this true anons? I can see that my refresh rate is 144hz in the nvidia control panel

Attached: Stoopid.jpg (896x84, 13K)

>best books to learn programming from scratch?
Click on the large picture. htdp.org/

sounds like bullshit to me, a 144 Hz panel is a 144 Hz panel
obviously with a nvidia card you won't get the adaptive refresh rate behavior, but it should still run at 144 Hz
try running RetroArch, in the settings it has a convenient display of estimated real display frequency, check if it stays around 144 Hz

I am using pic related, windows server 2019
I am am enabling Virtualization in the bios (intel VT-x) to use virtual machines on the OS
Hyper-V is installed on the OS

I have two other operating systems on the machine, windows 7 and windows 10.
When I enable virtualization in the bios, both windows 7 and 10 boot up just fine.

However when it is enabled, Windows Server 2019 Datacenter cannot boot, it shows the windows flag at the boot screen, no ticker or spinner, after about 30 seconds it reboots the entire machine.
So I cannot boot the OS with virtualization enabled in the bios.
I googled and found others have the same issue

social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/3d7f61c1-807d-4ecc-b70e-496f4ba74c83/windows-server-2019-datacenter-boot-loops-after-enabling-hyperv?forum=winserverhyperv

superuser.com/questions/731605/enabling-virtualization-in-bios-causes-windows-to-stuck-while-booting
However these three results yield no answers

I've tried every weird thing mentioned in these, such as disabling other things in the bios like usb 3.0
as well as the OS settings like bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off or bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto
I really badly need this resolved.

If you have a working answer, include a BTC address in your reply and I will pay you for your working fix.
Many of the discussions are of pre-built PCs, but my computer is built from scratch
And yes my windows is up to date and my bios is flashed to the latest version,
And yes, it boots and works fine when i try windows 10 or windows 7, only windows server is having trouble booting.
Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth to 100% too.
and due to the setup, it is hard to enter safemode, so i have not tried that, but think it will not help.
Thank you anons

I'm able to get rid of ads using Adaway on my phone, but how do I get rid of the space they take up? Pic related.

Attached: Screenshot_20190321-112535_Flipboard.png (1080x1920, 259K)

btw, you will have to disable the "Throttle Menu Framerate" option, otherwise RetroArch will not get above 60.0 Hz in the menu

the space is predefined by the website using css or just local styling.
You will need something else to select and hide these areas, such as a script or tool that lets you select and hide element areas as you find in uBlock or Adblock Plus

Turn off placeholders

What is the adaptive refresh rate behavior? I think gsync is working as I saw a difference in the Nvidia Pendulum test between Gsync and vsync

your google account cloud backup storage?

I am trying to find text in a webpage that updates regularly. Is there a way to have my browser notify my when a certain string is found in the page? If I could have the browser make a sound when a match is found in the CTRL-F dialog then I would just make an AHK script press enter periodically with the cursor in the find box, and that would be fine. but it only makes a sound when the string in the box becomes a string that isn't on the page. if i could make the reverse true that would be all i need.

So if there are only 3 copies available and your cart has 4 copies, I should validate stock and warn you about it right before you start the checkout process?

just write a custom javascript and inject it with something like tampermonkey
basically the script would work as follows:
1. wait until the site loads
2. search for the string (if a match is found, play a sound or something)
3. wait for 15 seconds
4. reload the page

or you could do this outside of your browser, for example in python, keep requesting the page in a loop and make a sound if the html contains the string

yes, when the user proceeds to checkout, make sure that there's enough items in stock and maybe mark the number somehow in the databse to prevent two or more people buying the same items in the same seconds or something

imo you wouldn't let me put 4 copies into the cart when only 3 are available at the time of me putting them in.

But it all depends on the nature of your store anyway. maybe it would make more sense to always have everything on offer, together with an estimate of how long it will take you to deliver if something is not in stock right now.

Fuck I didn't try that. I was trying to change the name with an Ubuntu VM. Thanks user for the simple solution.

>let me put 4 copies into the cart when only 3 are available at the time of me putting them in.
It already does that, but I'm thinking of extreme cases where there were 5 items in stock when you were filling your cart but then some faggot bought 2 copies in the time it took you to dick around / load more games / whatever.

Looking for a new cheap IEM with overall good sound quality focusing mainly on clarity. My budget is 50$ and under. Been thinking about picking up a Knowledge Zenith set, however I was browsing through some fourms and a couple of users recommended the TIN AUDIO T2s as a great one to purchase. What do you guys suggest?

Attached: TIN-Audio-T2-3-5mm-In-Ear-Earphone-Double-Dynamic-Drive-HIFI-Earphone-Bass-DJ-Metal.jpg_640x640.jpg (640x640, 52K)

Why is a binary system used in computers instead of any other? What would be the advantages of using a ternary system, for example?

Attached: cow.jpg (1200x742, 186K)

in that case I'd say you tell the guy that his games have been snatched
you can try to prevent this as much as possible, for example by trying to always restock an item when you only have X of them left, X being the amount of that item you usually sell in the time it takes you to restock that item. again that depends on your exact store

It's the easiest to implement
advantages might be lower storage requirements, but at the same time storage would probably be more expensive
some routers use ternary memory for 0/1/"don't care" iirc, but afaik it's usually implemented in binary anyway

Does anyone use Windows cmd for compiling/running code? I've been using terminal in my CS classes but I'm logged into my school's server when I do that, and I want to know the most productive way to do it otherwise.

it's by far the easiest to implement on the kind of electronics we make computers out of.

Hello. I am attempting to mix RAM of the same frequency but different CAS timings and sizes. 8gb is 2666 ddr4 CD15 and 16gb is 2666 ddr4 CD16.
I had it running fine last night when I custom set the timing to 16 for both of the sets, but today I get multiple OS crashing ram related errors.
The settings I am interested in changing, but not sure about, are Trcdrd, Trcdwr, RAS PRE Time and RAS ACT time.
If it's relevant, I have a b320w-a Asus motherboard.

Cleaning a mechanical keyboard. How do I get rid of the gunk by the switches?

Attached: 20190321_121313.jpg (3264x1836, 1.74M)

nah, i would have killed myself rather than used that piece of shit to do anything
try msys2 for a saner shell on windows, or just run an actual gnu+linux distro in a VM and connect with putty, which will let you experience the real thing

>lower storage requirements, but at the same time storage would probably be more expensive
I don't get it. How would storage be affected by it?

if you have some theoretical memory system that can store 3 states rather than 2, you need much less of them to store the same amount of information

You probably already did this, but have you updated your BIOS recently? That often improves memory compatibility.

qtips and isopropyl alcohol

Just throw it in the fucking garbage

Any suggestions? And how?

does anyone else have problems connecting to cockli?

works for me

thx

works here as well

Goddamnit, now I want to clean my keyboard even though I know I can't visibily see the junk unless I take off the caps...

why u do this

Use the Firefox app and unlock origin is my go to. Not a really good asnwer.

Because it fucking hurts.
For months I kinda kept pushing back due to not really thinking about the mess under the keys.

Thanks user, I've got another dumb question though. I downloaded msys2, and then downloaded git, but rather than git working now in msys2, it just has its own shell which is separate. Do you know how to get it running elsewhere?

TV is 4k but screen resolution options with connected pc only go up to 1080. When I upgrade my shitty GPU for a new one such as a 2080 Ti will I have better resolution options?

I've got chinese cartoons that are XVid+MP3s inside an MKV container, along with subtitles and dual-audio.

When Handbrake converts the files into a more modern x264 codec, the resulting output files lose their subtitles and non-default audio tracks.

How do I make output files not lose the subtiles and extra audio.

Should be part of your blockers settings. If you turn it off it should shrink blocked portions out of view

changing your GPU won't help, your TV is the issue. TV says it can only do X, Y, Z resolutions, GPU says 'ok ill only do those then'

Ahh fuck, nevermind. It was "pacman -S git" that did it.

Somehow doubt that.

It's a LG OLED C7 and a Radeon HD 5850

i don't know what to say man, other than that's my lived experience. there is functionally no difference between a regular-ass computer monitor and a tv. for example, changing your graphics card won't automagically make your 2001 flat panel monitor capable of displaying 8kHDR video.

your tv says 'yo i can display at [list of resolutions]' and your gpu says 'ok i'll only do those then'. the issue is with your tv. i'd suggest trying a different hdmi slot, and fiddling with your tv's display settings in case there's something fucking things up in there.

I don't expect to get 4k with my current setup, precisely because I have an ancient ass gpu. Does it not make sense for my pc to not give me the option to select a higher resolution because it's gpu is not capable of it?

Max resolution of that card is 2560x1600 and probably uses HDMI 1.3, which has no 4k support.

Any low end card should do fine with 4k today (displaying it, not videogames).
If you have a recent CPU it might be enough too with its onboard graphics.

Again yeah I don't expect to get 4k with this shit card. I just wanted to check if I got something better, like the 280Ti I'll likely buy, would indeed give me a chance to output at 4K for games and movies.

I wrote and compiled my own small CLI-based program to make things easier for me.
Where can I put the compiled program so that I can run it from the terminal just by typing its name?
(For example, if the compiled program is called "myprogram" how can I run it just by typing "myprogram" in the terminal, and it will work system-wide?)

I'm on Linux and mac OS, by the way.

well, i'm using a nvidia gtx 760, that was middling-tier when I built my current PC back in 2011. these are the resolutions Windows makes available when plugged into my 2018 LG HDTV

this is why I suspect your TV is doing something fucky and refusing to display in >1080 resolutions.

Attached: Capture.png (2111x1248, 1.23M)

I went through all my settings and get nothing that could really suggest that its refusing that. I also have a 2018 LG, or at least I believe the LG OLED C7 is from 2018

ok. so i'd suggest basics: checking your cable's plugged into your graphics card output and your tv's HDMI input, try other HDMI slots because not all HDMI slots are equal (because consumer-hostile HDMI point variations), check there's no chinglish display resolutions in the TV's options/display/advanced/whatever menu, turn on game mode so it doesn't input lag, and so on

as a side note, honestly, 4k isn't worth it and i'd continue running at 1080 jsut to avoid having to deal with application scaling

really burns my biscuits when shit's absolutely tiny on my teevee and you fix it and it's not tiny any more but its blurry instead

Can a shitty old compaq laptop with 2gb of ram and a incel eleron would handle old school runescape? runelite if possible, just have to reinstall some mega lightweight linux on it first

Default audio on realtek is 16bit 48k hz. Even if I probably can't tell the difference, what downside is there to changing it to 24bit 192k hz?

Attached: 1.jpg (666x502, 29K)

any directory in your $PATH
or put it into some directory where you put all your own programs and add that directory to $PATH

I don't care all that much for normal pc use, I just want to be able to play games in 4K considering I am spending/have spent so much money on a 4K HDR TV, 2080 Ti and other pc components. Watching movies and YouTube that support 4K would also be nice

>already tried /fglt/ but no one responded so let me try here

I bought a used computer and I want to duel boot win10 and debian. I used ubuntu on my old PC so I have some experience installing linux, but I'm still a n00b. What I want to do now is move windows to an ssd I just bought, using the "windows media installion tool" to wipe everything on my HDD and just use it for storage and (re-)install windows on the SSD, I don't know if that will mess up the windows licensing but I'll write down my product key before I do anything

after I get that done, I just go to install linux like normal, but put the "/boot" and "/" (and maybe SWAP haven't decided) in the SSD and everything else in a partition in the HDD, right? I'll probably just split the HDD in half, 1TB for each operating system

Are there any flaws in my plan or some red flags I'm missing?

you may have to add ~/bin to your path manually

Please respond?

I'm not seeing anything that looks related in Adaway's preferences.

Is it even possible to de-botnet Firefox on Arch? Compiling IceCat takes too long. I got stuck at removing the botnet prepacked extensions which are spread amongst multiple directories.
